( SPOILERS ) A Minnow Among Sharks- Superdeath takes another swing at it

Found out why the barb city still hasnt grown.. its working a God, Damn, 1f1h tile im guessing because the barbs havent "researched" fishing yet. Really hope they are also building a worker, so it will be another 40 turns till it grows or something stupid.. Ill have to see how long it will take to get a settler out of Aladdin. Also we have 4 archers, 2 warriors vs 5 skrims, 2 axes, and 1 chariot currently. Is he going to try again? Is he going to let his units sit in my territory wasting away till he gets swords/HA's? Tune in in about 2 weeks when he researches it.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Misclicked an archer into a skirmisher while talking to someone. Most definitly didnt mean to do that.. :/

Well, moved my galley to block access to the ocean to Compin's galley, and apparently he had a GG on board, and he promoted the galley to get 70%+ odds on mine. Well, im fucked if he lands anything on the large island, but ill be in good shape if he goes south. His injured galley SHOULD die to a fresh one. . . Also captured the barb city because it finally grew to size 2. Going to be whipping the galley out of the south city asap same with Capital. I have to prevent him from being able to hit the seas. If i can kill that galley, i can keep a good stack of 2-3 on the 1 tile he Must cross to get to the islands, at least from the southern part of the sea. I also sent him a ceasefire, hoping that if he takes it ( doubtful ) he will be teleported back to his borders, instead of towards my southern city. If he doesnt take it, and doesnt land any units, everything will be great. This will either be a VERY quick next couple turns as he takes the island city+ barb city. Or, i will be able to stabilize and be able to send reinforcements to whatever city requires them.

I... promoted the axe to city raider to prevent any chance of losing to the final warrior, but i did that with the knowledge that it would be a galley vs galley fight with mine having coastal defense advantage.. kinda wish i had taken the combat 1.

Well, he chose to move towards the island. Im  assuming there is something on board. Whipped the galley, and put overflow into an archer. Unless he gets stupid lucky he shouldnt be able to just straight boat the city. .. Right? And providing that anything he might have on there will either A: land, then attack the following turn which i hope my sole archer that has full fortify can withstand.. Or B: land, and move to the hill, halting any production i have in the city outside of whipping. Ive got IW coming in soon, and you bet your ass im whipping galleys to keep Compin from sending anymore BS my way. That whole island is mine! I really REALLY need there to be iron or maybe a copper i havent found yet in the fog to the west, i cant hold off HA's/ect without metal. At least not well. Plus im now thinking if he just has like a sole skirm on the galley, and lands it and parks it on the hill.. How many god damn archers would i need to break it? Guessing 4-5, although with my luck it would be 6.

Demos dont matter, so here are some pics that do!

Also, 5 turns till IW and 5 turns till i can whip the cap's galley.. REALLY hoping compin doesnt have another galley on the way soon. Going to be a real bitch.

Fucking really.

First, he uses his GG on his galley and kills my only galley, then apparently also had units on that galley, and apparently some good ones at that and takes the city via boating.. Ill be deleting the worker.  I dont think i can get a galley out of the cap fast enough to delay any other galley(s) from heading for the barb city. I feel like everything went wrong for me. and for Compin everything was set in stone to kill me from the beginning. Was there literally anything i could have done differently that wouldnt have ended up the same? Sure i could have went straight for archery and had an archer for my first settler, but that still would have been cut off i think from his timing attack. Sure others could have likely lasted longer by knowing when to whip/ect, but is there Anyone that thinks they could have won vs compin in this situation? or was i really just doomed from the beginning? This game is giving me ptsd from the gamespy days.

That kind of question is a good one to ask after the game, when you can read the lurker thread, rather than during.

yeah, I was more or less rambling to myself. But I'm sure I'll be in the lurker thread soon. Maybe like.. 20 turns tops, and that's if I whip archers all day long..

Well, since im a turn late to save the ex-barb city from certain destruction.. Might as well go over all my mistakes!

Not teching straight for archery once i found out Compin was my neighbor AND that they themselves, had taken archery.
Not settling either ON copper, or waiting till a hill opened up.
Not realizing that the new skirms are even better than before, and that the old skirms still beat archers even when fortified on flatland ( really kicking myself for losing 3 archers here )
Not whipping another galley instead of the 2nd workboat from the southern city.
Not taking the offered peace treaty out of spite, the turn before he used a GG to beef up his own galley to kill mine.
Promoting my axeman CR1, instead of Combat 1 even if it improved the odds to kill the barb warrior.

I want to say thats all, but i likely did other dumb stuff and may end up doing more dumb stuff before the last couple turns are over. I dont believe compin will be able to kill me till HA's, but i have no idea how much longer it will be. A peace treaty would really only help them right now, i have absolutely no chance now. Had the most minor of chances when i had cap, southern city, and barb city as i could establish naval dominance for awhile anyway.. but thats all gone now.
