Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILER] Close to Win

Oh and should I only get fail gold that's also good for me as it brings me that much closer to currency. My GNP is stagnating badly in the upcoming turns, so I desperately need Currency.

Currency is for losers. Horseback riding for the win.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

And with that the war against Jowy ended without any fighting, but the main goal was accomplished: Prevent him from settling orange dot, which now is called HillStormGiants. As I have always expected he kept his axe on the forest.

AT has a small force on our border protecting a worker. Now I'm not immediately afraid of him here, but his force more or less prevents me from connecting the ivory, so I've brought up an axe to protect my worker. I will try to play after AT the next turn in hopes that his force is gone by that time.

I don't have Horseback Riding on my list right now. This is my tentative tech schedule:

Currency->

Monarchy->
Iron Working->

T93-T94:

T93 started great for me. My borders in the north popped and revealed another AT city near Mjmd and best of all his troops moved away from our border. Everything is on it's course for the Hanging Garden with the next chop.

pindicator finally took a city from Giraflorens, which took him ages.

T94 started with me discovering ATs western neighbor: Mr. Cairo. I immediately send him a OB. I do want to establish contact with most other players in the near future.

I took the peace time to uncover those last unexplored dots to my east and thankfully there is a sea food resource for me to use and it can even be used by both dots. Awesome. Ok, on to chopping the last forest into the Hanging Gardens...

Noooooooo. banghead Stupid me, I forgot to reassign the tile I was chopping to my capital and the chop went into CommandoPygmies. Damn it. This could cost me the wonder and rightfully so. I immediately rescheduled my micro plan and the Hanging Garden will now finish in T98 instead of T96 without any more chops. Ah that's so agonizing. duh

Now the one upside to this desaster is that I'm building an axeman and a spear in CommandoPygmies as defense for HillStormGiants. In my previous plan the spear couldn't make it there until the peace with Jowy is up. Now he's there in time.

Ouch! Any chance you can settle another city or two in the extra couple of turns to make it look deliberate?

Not really and I honestly don't want to. Maintenance is already killing me.
