Civ4MC (updated to v0.4) - A cool new mapscript and balance tool!

Hi Charriu, sorry it's taken me so long to reply; it's been awhile since I've logged in, as life has kept me pretty busy. You probably gave up on Civ4MC a long while ago, but in case you haven't, I looked into your problem.

It looks like Perl made a non-backwards-compatible change to itself again. This time, they removed the current directory from the library import list:

Anyways, I just pushed up a patch to fix it.

Hi GermanJoey,

Since Charriu's mod seems to be in vogue right now, could you elaborate on the ways someone could make your tool compatible with CtH saves? It doesn't feature groundbreaking changes compared to RtR, so I'd assume not many changes have to be made to "basic" BTS simulating for it to work. Or is there an elegant way to convert worldbuilder saves from modded to unmodded? Because of the aforementioned lack of groundbreaking changes, the simulation could be more or less accurate for CtH even on BTS? Even if the report would not be full, knowing how distant strategic resources are, what's the distance between the players, what resources are there in let's say 10x10 square centered on player's capital (if simulating weren't possible) and so on.
Yeah, I'm not happy about my past behaviour either. shakehead

I have to say fhere are extensive changes to the DLL that might cause this. I will make my git project public in the next days.

I haven't read the entire thread in detail, but why doesn't it work with CtH? World builder files can be loaded in both BTS and CtH with no changes.

Did anybody ever test RtR and PBmod (from civforum). I know that PBmod might have worked on the worldbuilder

So what happened when I tried putting PB78 map through Joey's tool it didn't like that the first line was something it didn't expect and it didn't let me through further. So I removed the first line that seemed like it does nothing and it went further, but hanging on two or three random lines describing tiles which didn't seem to be anything out of ordinary to me. Didn't try removing these lines or changing the tiles to something else, but the error it gave me looked like it should happen every time tile of the same type appeared in the file making it even more confusing.

Sorry for double post, but PB54 map loaded without any problems. Heck, it even fixed some problems the setup had (techs, non-river floodplain) automatically and didn't care about player numbers. Now, I didn't include it earlier because I didn't know that, but PB78's first line is "Platy Builder" which seems to be a different world builder. After taking PB54 map, opening it in Platy Builder, saving it and then opening it with Joey's tool it got a slew of errors I haven't seen in PB78 but also an error I got before. So Platy Builder is to blame.

Ah I just remembered something very simple that might be the cause for the problems. In all the mods I mentioned and of course CtH too, the maximum player amount was increased to 50.
