Land looks good to the north.

Think the scouting plan will be to go N-NW then SW-SW and continue to loop around for 2nd ring sites from there.

Miguelito and Commodore have both popped huts from techs. Lucky ducks.

I forgot that CRE means our borders pop early at the capital.

Do I scout up more around the cow? I think I continue with the plan to go SW-SW next turn and land on the hill by the wheat. But since we get 3rd ring borders popping on turn 25 then I don't plan on swinging the scout all the way to the south to scout out that pig: instead I think the first warrior out Goat Rocks will go south and check that area out. The scout will swing out to the 6-8 ring range and continue around in a semi-circle.

Two more people popped techs: greenline & Piccadilly. Mine is surely just out there, in the fog somewhere.

Moving to the hill by the wheat revealed another hut, which was a map:

That's a lot of calendar resources - enough to make me think of Calendar ahead of Currency and in turn pushing for MoM. However, no food yet. A lot of rivers - this is definitely not PB71 or 69; this is some lush land.

We'll head north next to pop the hut the map revealed. NW, then N-NW, then NE to the hut. After that a decision: do we loop down to the south and go through lands we have already revealed with the map pop? Or perhaps it's better to just keep exploring north? I'm leaning north.

Still need to scout if there is just another plains tile or some pigs or gold...

Definitely not going north now: we got another map from this hut.

Anybody have a guess as to who our blue neighbor is?

Discovered a nice little river valley to the west of our capital.  Also, the barbarian animals are about:

I plan to continue moving south in a semi-circle around the capital.

This post was more about the capital, as our worker finishes end of turn and so I needed to settle on a plan. The obvious one would be to work the corn and build a warrior next, while the worker improves the wheat (t12-15). On t16 we'll be at 12/22 food and 8/15 into the warrior. Switch to the wheat and grow to 2 end of t17, but the warrior is still only at 14/15. At size 2 work the forested plains hill and complete the warrior with 5h overflow, then on t19 start a settler. Worker is improving the corn at this point but doesn't finish until t22. Settler finishes end of t28.

The tech is a little more important. I picked Meditation in the end because i wanted to get to the worker techs ASAP. For this start we really want Animal Husbandry, but we have to research it right after Meditation in order for it to count. If we go AH straight after Meditation we'll get it end of t31 - and with our first settler done end of t28 that would be right about the time we'd be settling city #2. If I was settling the southern pig first or stretching north to get the pig+wheat then I would likely go this route.

An alternative would be to have city #2 share the wheat out of the capital - either settling on the coast N-N-NW of the capital, or (more likely) settling inland at W-NW-NW of the capital (2S of the other wheat). If we did not need AH for the second city then that would open up Fishing right after Meditation, and possibly letting us go Fishing > Mining > BW - but only if we can leave the Animal Husbandry spots for around t50. That may be about the right timing for a 3rd city, depending on how other things go.

In reality the decision between tech and city #2 is pretty intertwined, so I don't think I can make a firm choice until I fix where the second city goes. So it is important to get that next ring around our capital scouted to let us make an informed decision.

Worker started improving the wheat last turn. Began a warrior and working the corn, as planned.

Scout is uncovering a pretty nice river valley to our west:

I think E (6) next turn, and then SW-SW (1-1) to go through the mountain pass.

The wheat has finished and our worker moves to improve the corn next. A turn of road into the tile it is on now, 2W of the capital, since that will be the more important tile to road for later on.

Scout continues to uncover fantastic river valley terrain. SE-S (3-2) next turn.

If Buddhism doesn't fall end of this turn then we are guaranteed at least a dice roll for it.

I thought about picking Taoism or Islam since they don't usually get to be the big religion, but I decided to be funny instead:

Started Fishing and a Settler.

Thanks to the religion, borders at the capital pop in 3t.
