For what it's worth, I also had and have no intention of insulting your 1oom patch, nor 1oom, nor you, MyName.  This thread doesn't really belong in the MoO forum at all, nor on this site, but at least we don't have to clutter up the thread for SDragon's patch.  I'm going to leave this up for now in the hope that this was really just a case of miscommunications and emotional reactions to misunderstandings, such that if you want to, you can look over what happened and see where it went wrong.  If you think it hasn't gone wrong, and calling people and sites you frequent names is the way you want to spend your time here, that's kind of the definition of trolling, so I'm going to hope that's not it.

Here, I'll start:  I could certainly be a better moderator!  I get only negative compensation for it and it's not part of my skill-set; I just kind of fell into it!  So in this case, it's possible that if I had been less accusatory at the start of my first post in this thread, and merely asked you to please refrain from name-calling and perhaps suggested that you may have misunderstood luddite's post, which (to me and apparently him) was clearly not intended as an attack on your code, nor on you, I might not have provoked an escalated response.  Manifestly what I did type didn't help matters unless this thread, having gone the long and painful way around, leads through posts like this to better communication!

To be clear: I'm not saying you have to look at your own posts this way to see what you could have done better - unless you want to; that's your call. I'm just leaving this here in case it is useful.  I'm asking only that you treat posters on the forum with basic respect, and don't descend to name-calling when someone disagrees with you.

I did not, do not regret and will not regret anything I wrote. I once again subscribe to everything that I wrote and will henceforth behave as I see fit, completely ignoring your recommendations, since I do not see in you a person who deserves my respect.

#1: why do you disagree with RefSteel so much? It seems like very standard forum moderation. You used some aggressive insults, he told you to stop. are you used to forums where you can just freely insult people?

#2: What country are you from? This isn't an insult, but I get the feeling that English is not your native language. I think that's causing some communication problems, no?

#3: Why did you create this mod for Master of Orion? It's such an old game, and it didn't really have that many bugs to begin with. But it seems like you care about it really passionately. And I respect that, I just don't understand it. Why is that? What were you hoping to accomplish?

I gave MyName a one week ban in the hope that they'll be able to calm down and possibly return with a more productive attitude. I hate to have to ban anyone since we don't have a lot of people posting Master of Orion content but we can't have someone insulting other forum members like that.

MyName created an alt account and started spamming this thread with more of the same nonsense so that's a permaban, unfortunately. We're always happy to discuss Master of Orion with anyone as long as they can be respectful to the others on the forum.
