Seriously, this is a prime example for the expression "Never do a small harm." He should have pushed and made us whip. If he had a pair of units in that galley he could have burned GT, and with the number of units in that stack he would have taken out burned everything north of Palouse, setting us way back.
But now we have everything minus a city that was costing us 10gpt in expenses (that's what we got back) and now we're just making units and planning to invade once we get catapults. You might argue he did us a favor and set us on a better footing than if he hadn't attacked.

Bing just canceled open borders. If he's teaming up with Amicalola to come after us in 9 turns then he's doing a great job of telegraphing that. Bing's problem is that he can only go through Commodore or myself. And with Amicalola sitting an army on our border, I can see how it must look very enticing for him to come after us. At least he telegraphed it by canceling the OB... It wasn't really on my radar until then, though we were already planning on just building units everywhere. So I have two avenues to explore: 1. I offered Commodore a War with Bing proposal for 10 turns from now. 2. I offered Bing a War with Commodore proposal on our end and a War with Amicalola on his end. HOpefully he understands that means I want to work together with him going after Comm and us going after Amica. Then sent him an OB with Fish for Wheat (our fish is currently being sent to Comm) to show we want a good border. Comm most certainly would pick Bing as a neighbor over us, so it seems a bit of an uphill battle. But if we can get Bing and Comm to fight in the near future then I feel a lot better about our long-term prospects. If we get ourselves in a 2-vs-1 or 3-vs-1 situation we're probably toast. Edit: For clarity, I have no intention of declaring on Commodore. So to that end we're whipping units out now. Shock vultures, save us now. Currency comes end-of-turn. Then we might need to go Catapults sooner rather than later.

I always wonder what would happen if people accepted these proposals.

Amica is likely about to settle the banana/sugar location, as he's splitting some units off his main stack. Actually, I'm more excited that he's splitting off units than anything else. The smaller that stack is the better for us. Currency is in and we're making +77gpt at 0% tax. Commodore is making over +110gpt. Not feeling great about our position.

I guess it's been a while. Our plans have largely been thwarted and to be honest while I'm not happy with how many of our decisions have turned out I can't deny that we still have advantages and there are possibilities to get stronger still. We're not in a great position on the map, but this isn't a map where anyone has a lot of options to bounce between. The snaky continents mean nobody has more than 1 or 2 expansion opportunities at a time. Well, I guess we have 3 if we count Commodore but attacking him would just be a horrible strategic move. Bing and Amica are the two options and right now our army is in the north against Amica because that's where he's kept his army. However, I don't want to discount Bing just because we have a grudge against Amica. Right now everything for Amica is surrounding his taking of Waimea Canyon. He's put a bunch of units, and now sadly we've lost control of the tile SE of the city so we cannot just hit him from out of the fog. I don't see us retaking that tile, so we have to go about it the old-fashioned way. Which means catapults are being built everywhere in anticipation of trying to take that city. In fact, Amica has pulled some units away from this city on t109 so we are continuing to build up and will watch his reaction. Either we're going to declare on him (if he doesn't respond to our build-up) or we are going to declare/peace him and then race everything south to kill Bing. Amica has been scouting the coastal road, so I've stopped moving up reinforcements along the east coast and I'm going to gather up the next wave and move them along a newly constructed inland road. Then we attack as that group reaches the front. You can also see my latest two filler cities: Indian Heaven is a popular camping/backpacking area in southwestern Washington and the first place I ever went backpacking in the Pacific Northwest. Three Sisters (known as "Faith", "Hope", and "Charity") are volcanic peaks in central Oregon that was the site of my first backpacking through trip - 3 days walking the Pacific Coast Trail through lava fields and forests. I don't have the workforce to improve these cities and they're just going to have to make do. Lack of a sufficient workforce has been one of my regrets this game, but we've just chased other priorities. Notable Cities: I whipped the market in Goat Rocks on t109. The city just does not have that many tiles to work without a lighthouse and it doesn't make a ton of sense to build a lighthouse for marginal gains. I'd love to build Moai here. Maybe after the war starts. Maybe I switch Goat Rocks to units and can switch Finisterra to Moai? Actually, I like that. Moai would open up more tiles for Goat Rocks to work because Fin would be able to just work the coast. Cispus is still our main unit producer. It could really use a forge, but for now it just builds elephants & catapults. t108 Demos & Graphs:

Amica isn't drawing forces down, he's playing zone defense: 11 axes, 4 spears, and 2 archers. Plus 2 chariots buzzing around. Commodore wants to invade Bing in 18t Given that he just teched Feudalism last turn I would guess that is his ETA for knights. We are invading Amicalola in 4 turns. Estimated forces: 15 vultures, 3 spears, 2 elephants, 10 catapults, and however many 2-movers I can whip up. I only see 1 catapult from him so far.
