Hi. I have been on the phone with the internet services for the last few days and it sounds like my issue will not be fixed until 25/1 at the earliest (and possibly later). So we probably need to work out a different solution until then. My partner will come home on 16/1, so potentially I can use their hotspot if it works better than mine. That is probably Plan A.
Perhaps if RB organises the greatest worldwide dogpile in history we can shorten the problem?

My opponent has not make his turn. Now the time is running out soon. I can make my turn until 11 o clock. After this i will not able to make my turn until tomorow at lunchtime.

It sounds like Amica can take back over, so I'm not logging in to play his turn tonight. Tomorrow morning I'll try to remember to check PBSpy to verify if he actually played.

Hi, my partner is back (with the car!) and we have driven to the 'local' library to do some work which we will likely be doing most days until schools starts on 29/1 (panik). My hotspot works fine from here to connect to the civ server (but interestingly the public wifi, which is otherwise excellent, does not...) so I should now be okay to play my turns. In the worst-case, an extension should be okay, rather than a sub request again. Thanks scooter for the sub, I really appreciate it! 
I'd also like to raise the normalisation of this sub policy. By which i mean recruiting a weak player to play the turns of another weak player on the other side of the world. I thought it worked really well, as long as scooter was happy with it, but I'd be interested in lurker and other-player judgement too.
