[SPOILERS] Werewords Lurker's Thread

Because why not?

Seems like a really tough game for the scum to win, considering how many guesses the village gets, and that the scum can't coordinate. Probably the other way around IRL, if people only have a few minutes to ponder their questions.

Guessing the secret word is something like

Do remember, that the wolves don't lose when the word is guessed, they have a chance to find and kill the seer. And that is 2/7 odds completely independent of any of the players giving off seer-like tells.

Yes, I like the double-sided aspect of the game, where both factions have a chance to "steal" the game even if they lose in the nominal main phase.

I know you qualified with ‘nominal’ already but I’m not sure if the secret word part is in any way the main phase smile

TBD pending how scummy people get...

Yes, I too am not sure whether winning in the main phase is actually +EV.

Edit: One thought I have is whether the seer is better off intentionally not looking at the magic word so as to stop himself from giving off any tells. (You can't not look at the role PM entirely since you have to know whether you are a wolf or not.)

Will we see several layers of metagaming??

Villagers arguing for intentionally not guessing the word so that they can just vote for the wolf? Villagers looking scummy if they try to argue this? Wolves intentionally guessing the word so that they can hunt the seer instead of facing a lynch vote?

Probably not any of the above since everyone seems to be playing it straight so far. lol

Ah, that's right... although the village gets the same trick in reverse if they guess the word incorrectly, I think? I suspect it's easier to catch players intentionally tripping up or otherwise misleading everyone else than finding the seer, since it's an intelligent group and the seer may not need to do much heavy lifting for the village to guess the word.

That's surprising, unless El Grillo is either being too discriminating or intentionally disassembling.  Maybe it's "Pong" or "Frogger" or something like that.

@Bob - maybe from some sort of shooter?

EDIT: or sports game

I like thrawn's point about asking a more general question. You want to use your full allocation of answers and there hasn't been a single Maybe answer yet. So I want to see more varied questions.
