Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Oh yeah, you are a dedicated lurker. The great news is I'll be in Spain for about 6 weeks this summer.

Its actually Auric Ascended in disguise.

What kind of self-respecting god uses a disguise?

It occurred to me if he kills the city my counter attack stack is in reach of his Knights, after I moved it up.

DUN DUN DUN.

I don't think you'll be alive this summer

Indeed. I moved about half my catapults from my "deterence" stack on the sunrise089 border. If he bothers to notice (and isn't afraid of getting bull rushed by Tanks and Bombers) I'm in severe trouble on two fronts instead of just one.

I think I might hold:

He has the GG healer AND the GG to in theory give some more promo healing, and enough units. It will be tight. Funny enough Rifling came in EOT, a Longbow I had whipped got converted to a Rifle, and I didn't get the extra defender. Even if he takes the city I might be able to retake the hill and found with a Settler I have lying around. I have several units coverging including some Catapults.

rego pointed out the screenshot was confusing...basically he killed almost everything. I had left over a pair of muskets and a longbow. The Knights were all moved in later and took the pinch promotion. Its hard to tell for sure, but I think he lost about 10 cats, 2 trebs, 5 rifles, 5 knights, and 2 muskets. Not sure, hopefully he is keeping track in his thread. I lost a bunch of G2 Longbows and Muskets, and some Pikes. I don't know how many "a bunch" is, but its certainly a lot lol. I doubt he can take the city next turn, but you never know. I can whip a Rifle next turn and I can move in about 2 Rifles per turn every turn after that. Plus several Knights on the way. My big plan is to tech MT for Calvary then just run cash for Knight upgrades. I don't think there is enough time left in the game for my pitiful economy to get Infantry, or even Machine Guns bang.

I'll say it again, my biggest mistake was my start. Staying on the plains hill due to fear of an early capital loss (and ignoring that Corn), then going Warrior -> Warrior -> Worker -> Warrior for my initial builds put me behind. I was able to kind of recover because my land and traits were so good, if you recall at one point my area and pop were close to Krill's. Then, I whipped it all away into an army of Maces and Cats that did pretty much nothing against sunrise089. I should have razed his city and move to the western front. Actually, I should have just focused on economy. The ironic lesson I learned is that an AW MP game is all about the economy. I was so concerned about my lack of MP tactical experience, and I should have just used my builder game (which is different, but not radically so in SP).
