this fennbandit thread is a font of knowledge [sorry]

1S of Copper is another good helper city, but I think the stone/gold area is a 4th city.

Very tentative dotmap.

About the east dotmap, only problem I have is that the proposed Stone/Gold city is farther away and can't share tiles with any other cities while it grows, but I can't see any other good way to do that without orphaning the Corn or Spice. Having them all on the coast is good for Fin Quay coast. So I guess I like the dotmap actually. That said, I'd lean towards the Deer/Silver spot for the fourth city due to its proximity and better terrain (more river, forested Deer is a bit better than dry Corn, and grass hill Silver > desert hill Gold imo). Unless we want Stone for something soon?

Doing a 1-pop whip into the Worker sounds better to me since the whip hammers will get the PRO bonus on Workers; but it might take a little while for Times to regrow since the third city will be using the Wheat.

We're going to need to learn how to build sailing boats to get to our horse.

Demos pre-revolt:

The damn screeny didn't take for this, but moved the warrior back behind the river as another lion is coming. Don't mind the lion attacking across the river, but why risk it with only a 25% bonus. Moved the scout back into the jungle.

Our Horse being offshore confirms to me that we have isolated starts. Agreed on the Warrior move, no need to take risks when we only have the one.

I wonder what the status of those other landmasses is - are they private islands, or will players be able to contest them early on?

WE ARE NOT ALONE

Guess that somewhat answers the question about private islands. I did turn tech back on for wheel.

Well nevermind about the isolated starts then lol.

It's great that I say "oh we're definitely alone" the turn before it turns out we aren't.

I wonder if that little jungle area jowy came from means we connect to another person on the opposite side. A la (in grand ascii tradition): x--x--x with certain civs connected in these thin strands.

Jowy as a neighbor is about an average draw in this field. Could be a lot worse, could be a lot better. He looks like he beat up Adrien/Mardoc in PB28 pretty early, so maybe he doesn't want to play an early war game again.

I could elaborate on what I think happened with Mardoc/Jowy early in PB28, but I'm not sure what's considered privileged knowledge or not.

Knocking on wood here, it would make sense for us to connect to another person through the jungle to our west; they'd act as a bit of a buffer zone discouraging early or aggressive expansion, since the rest of our lands don't have any jungles blighting them.

Yeah the details of how whatever went down are spoilers, even though what I said is spoilerish.
