At PBEM 2 playing as Russia, firstly I also couldn't think of any good naming scheme. Eventually I decided to name my cities after its surroundings with "grad" added behind.
For example, settle in desert: Desertgrad, settle near coast with many fishes: Fishygrad, and etc....

Hmm, I think I shall name all of my cities after the "Alhambram the Great Prophet of Russia" due to your victory in PBEM2. All cities shall start with "AL" and end in "hambram".

Suggestion for Russian naming theme: Since everyone always mispells the Lavra Unique District as "Larva," you could name all the cities after insects or other creatures (e.g. Frog larvae are Tadpoles) that go through larval stages. The religion could be called Metamorphosism (for the transformation from the larva stage to the imago (adult) stage) or Chrysalism for the cocoon in which many insects perform the transformation.

Nice one, Ref. I could go with the matured variant.

Although Al-Holyram has a serious nice ring to it.

Settler enroute as well, Slinger stay and fights, best case I promote him, worst case he is dead. Better odds that way, a spearman was also chasing him before.

I think the safe option is the better bet. Divine Spark only helps with writers, not the rest, tested that in SP.
