How much is the unit supply expense for the expedition? I’m a bit concerned that founding those two cities is going to take you to below +10gpt...

I wanted max overflow for a 1 turn axe so I'm not working the gold this turn, but will be from now on. Pillaging will pay for a turn of it. Damage to Chairru just from pillaging pig is probably worth it long term. If I raze the city its well worth it. I have a good army composition vs him, what else am I doing with the units, and might as well do a non 0 amount of damage vs him for what he did to me, which will also help long term.

My GNP had been good. Once I regrow and start cottaging everything I should be fine. Its dangerous to leave Charriu undamaged though.

Alright, just bear in mind your displayed GNP is inflated by the culture from Stonehenge and religion. While that culture does have value for border pops, it’s not really apples to apples with gold and beakers.

Some people can grow a huge snowball and crash their economy and confidently pick themselves up afterward... I cannot, I’m afraid.

I looked before stonehenge, but eh. I mean Charriu already ruined my chances of early snowballing. At this point I have to do something to bring him back down to my level.

Long term even if I have to go for the hill spot that is still A LOT of cottagable flood plains. A financial leader's dream even with the nerf. My main problem is going to be building enough of these expense workers. Luckily I have cities that have a lot of whip unhappiness to slow build them!!!!

Edit: my own mistakes PLUS Charriu

PS: Don't post again until tomorrow. Not sure if he is keeping track of post count. Don't want him to suspect too much.

Weird situation. Chairru played before me today on accident. I wonder if he doesn't know about my army then? Reloading, but I think its going to be hard for him to play his turn the same way (although he has whipped last 2 turns so maybe he did). I'll let him play it differently when he sees my army show up (assuming he didn't know). Would be kind of dick otherwise; realms beyond golden rule ect ect.

ROFL ROFL ROFL. I just forgot to end turn......... OOOPSSS

Well that's embarrassing. Too much excitement.

PHAH!!!! Made another mistake. I could have snipped his chariots with my spears across the river....... He has them along the river. SOOO STUPID. Instead I double moved my units like an idiot........

He does have 2 axes in there and a spear. He could have up to 3 chariots as well. We will see. If he only puts 1 chariot in I might go for it. 2 or more chariots there is no way. Did some quick tests. 1st hit of axes gets 25% odds. Could always see what the first axe does. There is no way the barbs are bothering him as much as they are me......... That wheat will probably get pillaged next turn again.

Short report. Its 2am and I should not be awake.

Well since I didn't take the free chariots he didn't accept peace (wtf was my brain on at that moment). Probably suspects I'm trying to take the southern city (which I am). Majority of my army will move that way to secure (he has 2 chariots in the area atm) . I have some troops at Pork Chops and it will expand borders and get a nice peak to give me vision to his culture.

2 Barb axes incoming on french toast. Wheat was pillaged again...... I'm afraid one will move onto the gold next turn but can't really do anything about it. Hopefully goes straight for the city. I'm not sure I've ever had this many barb issues even in a single player raging barb game (and I've played a ton of them).

Played cautious and then stupid with my southern settler and I might get punished by 1 turn. We will see.
I was first delayed by a barb axe in the area. Then Chairru had 2 chariots to my 1 spear. I forgot to reposition the settler last turn correctly from the prior turn and I'm 1 move short of settling banghead banghead banghead  Mistake # 20 million. I have 2 axes and 2 spears in the stack down there plus the other spear. He currently just has a scout and settler there so will see. Meanwhile I have a norther stack of 3 axes and a spear that just wants to see if he is re improving the pig and snipe some workers if possible.

Where would you settling if he settles on the hill? He does have protective archers available and 1 of the axes did move from exploringfauns last I checked.

You can also see the 3/4 barb axes incoming...... gold got razed. At this point the barbs have done almost as much damage as Chairru.

Of course the 1 turn mistake punished me. Sigh. he settled and has a protective archer with hill defense. If I had brought my whole army, maybe. But I would assume he has more on the way. I settled 1w of the 6th sign.

He offered peace, but staying at war prevents him from improving his tiles (specifically the pig). Also, he still hasn't switched to his religion + organized, so the longer I can delay that the better (he might this turn who knows, he is safe from attack now in his cities at least). Plan with both the cities on the border is to try to build an early library for culture superiority. He got a really lucky spread at ExploringFauns; another reason to delay peace.

Long term plans....... My plan of peace rexxing like a madman backfired tremendously due to a laundry list of mistakes plus having to expand across a vast desert vs Charriu getting easy access to the area. So now what. After math go horseback riding into construction for elephants? That southeast area insures we will be at war again. Might as well practice my pathetic war skills. Also, still pissed at the barbs; won a 50% battle, so happy about that.
