I'm Irish(though I lack a drinking problem, which often leads to confusion ).
Not sure about agent?
Oh no! Will you ever forgive me? ( )

Hmmm Old Harry you're the only one that's both in Europe and not in PB22 (so it doesn't change anything to the macro of this game and vice versa). Can you be my teammate ?

I'd be glad to AI!
We've got:
Caledorn/Plako
Agent427/TBS
Dreylin/Ipecac/Ruff
AdrianIer/Old Harry
So still to match up are:
1. Whosit - America
2. Elum - Europe? (just going on the times he's posted here)
3. Grimace + wetbandit - America
A. mackoti - Europe
B. WilliamLP - America
C. Gavagai - Eurasia
Anyone want to roll some dice (and disregard any result where Elum gets William?)

I would say go ahead and pair William and Whosit then. I don't mind having a mentor not in my timezone as long as we have some overlap. For instance, Caledorn is in Norway, but he's always up late so we actually overlap for 8 hours, sometimes longer.
Is the expectation that the mentors will take a more active role than just advising through posts? Chatting, maybe even screensharing? If so, then timezones are highly important. If not, then it's much less so.

For my part, I was just expecting that I would detail my strategic/tactical plans, and my mentor would offer suggestions and explanations on what might be better or optimal or what-have-you.

I expect a combination of whatever works best. Forum posts, screens, chats, etc. Whatever works best for the teams in question.
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"

I would quite like a mentor in my time zone if that's cool with you guys, I was hoping to chat about turns and not clog up my thread with too much nitty gritty discussion.
I understand if you guys just want to randomise the partnerships, I'm easy.

What time zone are you in? Feel free to pick one of the remaining mentors if they match what you want.

Old Harry's assumption was right I'm in Europe. Could mackoti be my mentor? If he'd take me that is

So that leaves
1. Whosit
2. Grimace + Wetbandit
and
A. WilliamLP
B. Gavagai
Randomly assigning one of the former to William: Random.org gave me a 2
So Whosit and Gavagai are one team and Grimace, Wetbandit and WilliamLP are the other.
Teams:
Caledorn/Plako
Agent427/TBS
Dreylin/Ipecac/Ruff
AdrianIer/Old Harry
Elum/Mackoti
Whosit/Gavagai
Grimace/Wetbandit/WilliamLP
Jojo - you should probably just pick whoever you think needs your help/sounds most interesting/shares a timezone.
We've got a forum now so go and set up your threads!
