After Pindi took land form Japan early our best bet was to get him in a two-way war with Horse Archers were we could exploit the downside of Numidians. Japan seem to have fallen more quickly and easily than we would have expected. This put us in a bad spot vis-a-vis Pindicator. While he have a trade advantage over us from his more central postítion and a production advantage form the extra japanese cities he also has to defend more fronts. There should be others angling for him as he is in the lead so there is still hope. If we can get another two-way war going our chances improve a lot. Does he have any other close nieghbour than Cairo at the moment?
+ You have distracted Pindi in his eating of Japan and forced a lot of whips.
+ You will probably get GL.
+ You will maybe get Pyramids or at least failgold
+ The capture gold is useful for getting to currency
+ You took away a good production city from him
- You could not stop the conquest of Japan. (but that does not mean that it would be better to have waited for him to consolidate his gains)
- You whipped a lot
- You lost more units than him in the war
- You are not ready to fully exploit currency and GL due to the war.

Yeah, no clue how Japan folded like a stack of cards in the wind, but that Severely screwed our attack. Still needed to MAKE the attack, but Japan....
Got Great Lighthouse!
Currency will come in next turn.
I wouldnt call that a great production city, maybe a decent commerce city with the river?
At this point it comes down to the Good news and the Bad news.
Good news:
Cairo appears to be preparing a stack to take at least Lincoln from Pindi. This is FANTASTIC news if so.
Bad news:
Thats a fair amount of spears. Good thing ive been building axes in a couple cities to send down..
If he attacks this turn, its gonna suck. But ill only reinforce with a TON of defensive units over the next couple turns, and ill have border pop in 2t. This is why im attempting to hold such a meager city. 1: I have a ton of units coming to reinforce and borders will be popping. 2: Cairo is possibly joining in and i need to appear like im not just falling over. 3: I have to keep pindi from being able to advance his spear/numid stack any farther. He must not be able to get to my ivory before i have mids/calendar. That happy is REALLY important.
Game could go different ways very soon. Cant wait!

Looks like I was really nasty about the positioning of that ivory. Lesson # whatever as mapmaker.

Had to really reach for it, and it probably "should" go to Pindicator lol

Mids are looking to be done EOT 105 or so. Going to be quite exciting! If i land them, REP for the happy... otherwise the fail gold will get me Construction and good ol' war elephants.
Going to be tense, and ill probably lose most of my HA's, but all i can hope for at this point is Cairo saving me, RNG saving me, or Pindicator choosing to wait another turn.

Got mids, swapped to REP. I still have a stream of units heading to defend the city.. Pindi just finished Construction i believe. I could probably finish it in 2.5ish turns if i ran scientists everywhere and a full turn of normal research. Dont know why pindi didnt attack when it was just HA's vs Spears + numids. But im guessing he is waiting to slam a stack of catapults into me? As soon as i see a couple catapults, ill be moving everything out i think.. Really wish Cairo would join in

Pindi sent a numid NW of that horse, so i moved a spear to intercept, and i have a HA ready just incase.. im 3 turns away from setting the fish/ivory city and once i get that ivory hooked up, ill probably ease Pindi into a peace if i can. I got lands i wanna settle Soon-ish. Just need some time to be a builder. Pindicator got construction either this turn, or the previous turn, so im expecting cats to be on that hill in the next 2t or so. Ill probably leave a token defense in the city to force him to choose between wasting cats, or wasting units. Either way, i should keep my HA stack intact for the potential "run-by" that im sure he wants to do with his numids.
I really need someone to join in ( Cairo ) to get back in this game. Otherwise im at the mercy of Pindicator and his 2 civs worth of land. Thanks Japan!

That is bad news. You should definitely counter with construction of our own.
If you want to hold Skampi I would recommend walls ASAP so that he does not kill your army out of the fog too cheaply.
It might be more prudent to retreat though. Without any improvements the city is dead weight. It gives you advance warning on any attacks on your core but exposes your army.

Im growing the cities now, and then plan on trying to 2t construction. ( need alot of gold.. )
Walls are requiring another... 3t? or so till they can be whipped. i FULLY expect catapults to be on that hill before then.
I fully agree, however, i wish to make it costly to pindi. Ive lost.... far too much in this war, and i cant trust him and he obviously cant trust me. Sadly, thanks to our GLORIOUS mapmaker i have the pro's and con's of having basically 1 neighbor. PRO= only one neighbor to worry about. CON= i cant get shit for trade routes thinks to no island chain/coastal route to Mr.Cairo. So my economy suffers, while Pindi gets PRO boosted foreign routes because people are... idk. Ignorant of what they are giving away? Dont care? Dont wanna piss pindi off even though i have his undivided attention?
Anyway, this is what i opened my day with:
WHY ON GODS GREEN EARTH. Would i GIVE you 5gpt for open borders when i can't even GET trade from you? Sigh.
No catapults in range yet, but 1 in his capital.
Sentry visibility is wacky, and im not nearly as invested in this PB to go and check what he can currently see. From what i can remember he shouldnt be able to see anything because Forest/jungle hides basically everything. But either way, the warrior is bait. Both my HA and the spear have 73% odds on his numid and i dont see the odds dropping much after he takes a promo. /knocksonwood.
Thank you RNG may i have another?
Going to avoid whipping anything unless i see those galleys head north. No ripping my nets bud.
So im noting the Metal Casting research from Pindi, i ASSUME this is his actual research, not "just" saving gold on it. So forges for boosted hammers/happy and triremes to end my aquatic life. Neat!

Hello Superdeath and company, Im really sorry for having kind of ruined your game by overfeeding pindicator. Our skill is not much as u already saw and our planes got ruined easy.
I was writting you beacause i didnt know there was some cifrated messages by weird trades. (This has been my first ended multiplayer game) So I didnt understand your warnings nor what you tried to say.

I sent this to TRY and warn Japan about pindi's incoming numids.
Horses for his EVERY resource... would have to declare on him should he be dumb enough to accept it, but as with most deals i try and show ( cough JR4 ) they dont always get read how id like.
Now i see you wanted to warn us from his numids.

And accepts the copper/copper deal instead of you know.... SENDING IT BACK. GAH. Some people's kids..
But i dont understand this, what do you mean by giving and getting the same resource? Since we werent losing anything i acepted and nothing else.
I guess im really out of this messaging way so if you had time i would love some tips about it.
