I really don't think there is as much of a water barrier as you are thinking. They have had both a scout and warrior come from over there.

I know the scout came up from the south, did the warrior come directly from the west?

Old Harry, in response to your questions, Courcelette's borders popped last turn. My scout is currently legging it up to the western fringes to check them out. As both Commodore's warrior and scout appeared to come from the west, provisionally I'm inclined to agree with HAK that there might not be much of a water barrier there.
That scout did not go where I expected, so I didn't get to kill it (it's nowhere in sight). Courcelette finished its granary and grew with exact yields this turn: ![]() I'd like to start improving the horses next turn. Sound good? Verrieres Ridge will finish its settler next turn. Let's continue to discuss where we'd like to send it. I think that's all for now; let me know if there's anything I've neglected (still feeling run off my feet - finals season).
I was referring to the next border pop being in just 7 more turns. And when my city pops in 9 turns the borders will meet.
I also agree on the horses and the road to hook them up.
Its actually optimal if your granary finishes at 50% food for complex reasons that I probably can't clearly explain, but having it ready is good news anyway! What are you building next? Settler?
Horse sounds good - but only with one guy, use the other for more roads - including to your third city site. Also (sorry if this is obvious) make sure you finish that road before moving the horse-worker as then he can start the pasture straight away... Is this settler for your city 3 or HAK's city 3?

What are you building next? Settler? Yeah, I just emphasized growth and build finishing at once so everyone knew where we were at. It's basically the fastest the granary could be completed; I put both chops into it. I think we agreed on worker next, to be whipped. Am I right? Yep, the road will finish first, then the other worker will move and start pasturing; I just didn't feel like spelling that out. Please do make such notes in future though, in case something similar doesn't occur to me. Only one worker for the horses: noted. Two wouldn't lose any worker turns, and would gain an "improved tile turn," but getting a city founded a turn sooner is more important. Do people want me to send this settler to HAK or west?
U should prob gift to HAk, as I believe he does not yet have a settler, and you already have a 2nd city

Maybe build a worker in verriers and a settler in cour to use for HAK's third city? You want to get the worker/settler swap thing going. Although its not as bad for you to build workers HAK should try not to build any more settlers...
How many workers per city do you normally play with?
