[SPOILERS] Scooticator and Pindooter give a sporting try

This is the key point that allows everything to make sense. lol

Grammatically that may be the worst sentence I've ever written, and I've had some DOOZIES.

Well the only mistakes I see are "much people" and "who we can sign OB with." But who uses whom correctly anyway? Certainly not me.

I was also thinking:

This is just horribly awkward more than anything. There's probably a dozen better ways to say this.

Okay sorry, I've officially killed this thread, I'm grammar nazi'ing my own dumb sentences. Actually, not sorry, following this thread means you get 1) generally good reports and 2) dumb spam in between them. It's part of the package, take it or leave it. lol

Next post will have pretty pictures and nice words or I'll let pindicator change my avatar early.

I don't see anything wrong with that clause. It may not be your typical phrasing but I wouldn't say it's awkward. "Will diminish" would be better though now that I think about it.

WTF!? You know your teammate has a B.A. in English, right?

Turn 124

First dibs on the report of course goes to the lurker question:

(November 20th, 2013, 21:22)Gazglum Wrote: What's the border with Nakor looking like? How militarised? And is your cultural control still expanding?

We've got 5 units and a heavy culture buffer. Bulldogs has a couple promo-ready axes in it, too. Anyway, the cultural buffer makes it pretty hard for him to do anything without giving us 2 turns warning. You see he's got several units there, but they're all junk. It's archers, spears, and maybe 1-2 axes. I've literally seen 0 Praetorians so far this game. Nakor really built some military, but it seems to pretty much be defensive units. A quirky side effect of our opportunistic (failed) attack on Nakor earlier is that at the cost of expansion he seems to have gone heavy on defensive units that we're going to obsolete pretty soon here. I think I remember pindicator predicting that might happen, too. Anyway, all those tiles under our cultural control are solidly under our control. Presumably he'll get some culture into Smoke Springs soon and retake its first ring, but... it'll take some time. It does need a granary badly, and he has no forests available to chop... So we'll own that for a little while I bet barring a religion spread.

We have two new cities! We also finally completed our list of contacts, so I haven't done a city count update in awhile:

Quote:FinHarry - 16
mackoti - 16
Plako - 14
Commodore - 14
dtay - 13
scoopin - 13
Ichabod - 13
Lewwyn - 11
Azza - 11
WilliamLP - 10
Black Sword - 10
Nakor - 10
Dhalphir - 10
Bacchus - 8
suttree - 6
slowcheetah - 6
retep - 3
mostly_harmless - 2

We're still near the bottom of the contenders, and that's with 2 JUST being settled - it looks worse a couple turns ago. However, our cities are grown vertically as well as anyone, and we have several spots still available to settle, so I'm content with where we're at. Anyway, I returned the southern NFC North galley back to Big East to pick up two workers. I want the northern galley to go check this out:

Would like to see if horse island has fogged seafood, mostly. Also, is there any chance that hut is... still there? Do huts disappear like forests even if you don't have visibility on them? I don't know, I can't imagine retep has left it, but then he hasn't even bothered settling nice cities just a half dozen tiles west of his cap, so I'm not taking aaaaaanything for granted here wink. Here's Big East island:

Our thread is too spammy for me to quickly find the Moai plan, but I went ahead and whipped it to completion. It was just a 1 pop whip, and I figure rather than work a plains hill why not just get those hammers from the coast instead. Plus we get some extra hammers into whatever's next. "Whatever's next" should probably be a military police unit, by the way. Just 5 turns to go until our great person arrives:

Golden Age draweth nigh. Northern core:

Hey look, we're FINALLY working non-horrible tiles at Gators:

There's hope for this city yet. It's still got a long ways to go, but there's progress.

Our demos are fairly consistent:

Continued excellence in GNP (2nd at break even), continued respectable but still behind in the others.

Quick international update too:

This is what you might call a feeding frenzy.

Blood in water, sharks swimming, etc. MH is gone within a half dozen turns I bet. If you had him in the "first to die" pool in the lurker thread, congrats (I have no idea if such a thing actually exists, but wow I sure hope it does because it sounds like a great idea).

I have a B.S. in Computer Science, and if I understand my degree properly I'm required to have terrible writing skills. smile
