You do seem uniquely qualified for the position. I'm worried you're a bit too calm compared to our previous candidate though, care to give us a nice rant (Commodore is generally good subject matter) so I can evaluate?

Firstly, allow me to thank you. Your change of thread title made me laugh out loud. There was a very real risk of coffee from the nose but fortunately, that was restrained.
As for Mr Commodore, the mind of Realms Beyond. The fearless genius who ensures a calm force of intelligence guides every pitboss. But look deeper and you will see an outsider who does not belong, a man of two worlds. This tears him apart, the constant battle between what he thinks and what he feels. What does he do? Does he follow his head, embracing logic and the path of reason? Or does he follow his heart, knowing the emotions he cannot control may destroy him? He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him! I'll chase him 'round the PBEMs and 'round the Pitbosses and 'round perdition's flames before I give him up!

Last pre-Maths chop goes for a quick Ikhanda in Felucia. I'm whipping out another settler next turn in the homeland. Not sure whether to send him to the gold or corn site.
Pin's warrior has disappeared north east, I'm going to have to get an Impi to ambush him by the rice hills if goes that way.
Barbs have been quite annoying so far:
I'm not going to fogbust the north though, I'll leave an impi for zone defense and try to get him to 10xp for the HE.

Would do about what? I'm dumb and couldn't see what you mean by the pictures.

Settle a city by the corn, 12 tiles from my capital, 7 tiles from Pin's. Or leave the city for Pin instead, settle by the gold and don't go to Defcon 1.
It must be so obvious to you there's no decision at all.

Quote:I don't want to just turn map trading on now.
-We lose the fun of exploring the map ourselves(why I originally voted for it off).
-We've been playing under the assumption of no trading so far. Maybe I would have traded maps with a neighbour 30t ago if that was an option?
-Maybe I've been assuming that Commodore and Pindicator can't trade maps, I don't think that would be a good thing for me.

Maybe that Impi plan is not going to work. Diverted chops intended for the Library and a settler for axes instead. Usually the barbs have turned west from that tile but I can't be sure. I better settle horses next.
I've been emphasising GNP a bit because I think I should have a lot of hammers coming in from Maths, commerce will be the tough thing. In addition to growing onto cottages, that's what the library is for, to generate an academy and not wait for currency to make my first GP. Not sure what I'm teching next though. Ideally we have some islands to settle and we pick up Sailing -> Currency. Alternately things like Alphabet and Calendar look tempting.

Full scale barb invasion on my hands.
That Impi popped the barb warrior from last turn and double-promoted. He should be back to full health before the axe attacks. I'll chop out another axe next turn if necessary, at least the barbs were kind enough to wait for maths.
Meanwhile I settled Geonosis in the south, and met OH.
Surprisingly, he only has 6 cities, so I think this means I'm first to 7! I'm feeling safe enough down here now but my barb-power spike(+30% over rival best) will probably make Pindi respond and build more units. I'm putting 5h into axes for emergency whip purposes but I hope to be able to build granaries and ikhanda's instead.
