Lurkers, have we finally sated your bloodlust (with a hamburger and fries)?
I was just thinking this. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!

* Xenu asked to swap world maps. I figured why not
* Brick has declared war on Merohoc, probably to grab the islands off of him while plako finishes off his mainland.
* Our moai city finishes its forge next turn. Add another trireme to the mix? It'll take forever to reach, but may be good to have around the north just to dissuade a certain malevolent scientology alien
I don't think the Trireme is worthwhile for the Slowcheetah front, but it may be worthwhile to hold Xenu in check. Though really we may be better off building a few catapults or something.

Yeah, land units may be better from Dominos, at least in the near-term. A trireme to flash would be neat, but xenu is so close that he can land troops on our island unless we occupy every coast tile between our cities.
Now it could be handy to mass caravels out of there when we land optics. That would let us defend against a naval invasion from commodore or serdoa.

Totally true - especially since all of us suffer from motivation problems from time to time. My best turns were my 2v1 war in PBEM10, where "whip all cities all the time" carried the day: commitment ist alles.

Oh, heck no.
No way that'll happen, though y'all have given it a good heave. You've already written yourselves in RB history for your work here.
The drop in replies is probably due to lurkers staying out of the crucial decision-making process. Even jokes and anecdotes could change your plan.
We are entertained. Keep it up!

FYI Pin - I whipped only DQ and Starbucks Triremes, and Culvers will complete its Trireme naturally. I decided not to whip JJ, Five Guys, or BM for their triremes. Let me know if you feel differently, but I think we agreed to stagger the whips a bit so it doesn't look quite so obvious, and also whip back to front a little bit (hence choosing DQ and Starbucks first). I'm thinking whip the other 3 next turn, or at least JJ and BM next turn. Then we run max food for all of them while we try to grow so we can do it again when Caravels are ready to go.
Did not end turn, but if you're good with only whipping those two cities, you can pop in and end it.

I think that's perfect. Let's only whip the triremes as we have to.
Culver's trireme will get to just out of the range of the scout by turn 175. Starbucks' by turn 174.
So I would whip like so:
Jimmy John's - t171
Boston Market - t173
Five Guys - t174
That will let us have 6 triremes ending torn 3W of the scout on turn 175.
Then t176 we kill the scout and move our boats in.
Edit: Merohoc ended turn while I was still in the game.
We can have Optics in 4t - very close to 3t. I tried doing a little bit of GNP scrying, and i think only 1 other person has Optics researched. So good news there.

So us getting Optics in just 4t has me thinking...
What do you think about upgrading our first wave of triremes to caravels and then whipping in another round of caravels? I think it would be 55g per caravel upgrade.
Upgrading would let us get a bigger jump on him: we could just bypass the scout rather than giving him an advance warning by killing it

I hope you remember that caravels can't pillage (unless that was changed which I doubt).

I did forget that, so maybe we just follow up the triremes with caravels as originally planned.
Caravels can still blockade, right?
