"Better Update" is a subjective term.
Welcome to the Incan police state. Your ID card is required to enter the terrace and please sign up for the new rifle battalions. Went PS/Vas/CS/Merc/Theo. I have a G3 factory for rifles. With the 28095709 hills on this map, that's pretty cool. Cav and rifles mixed in everywhere else.
A brief interlude from the cultural underground...this wonder city feels possible only in SP.

Quite the set of wonders. My GNP is now very much inflated by merc specialist culture, but I'll take all of it for border pressure. And a nice backup plan if Jowy manages to crush Fenn. jowy is 2nd in power to me and he's just finishing civil service. The height of absurdity.

Borsche's stack is relatively potent. All that siege can become cannons next turn. I can definitely kill that stack on defense if he moves in. He has 24 knights and I have a mix of 21 cav/cuirs/knights of my own (with two more cav added to that picture), with about 16 cats around. I'd say about 2/3 of those horse units are lvl3 eligible, so a ton of formation on my guys. The big downside is that this stack forces me to keep building here and not concentrate fully on yuri. To combat this, I am mulling just going all out on borsche. he is in a GA, but isn't in slavery or nationhood. Going into Police State is a huge signal that it's time to throw down, so I expect him to go into slavery at the end of his GA. I can probably raze his front cities and he can whip away his empire if he wants. I'll also boat his backline.
Rep was pretty good, it turns out.
before/after

I don't think it's any surprise, but Borsche has been relatively even with me in beakers/gold. I have a lot of cultural pollution in that GNP. He is up Econ, Chem, and, next turn, Steel, where as I am ahead of him with quite a lot of other techs, most importantly MilTrad and Rifling. I expect him to tech MS next for grens, which will be his best defensive unit. as he is far from rifling.
