Presumably some of Rusten's expansion came because Compin expanded slower towards him than you would. Can we set up a control Always Peace version of the game to see how far Rusten's holdings would have extended in that case?

Rusten's economy seems to be generally better, and Spiritual Mids is helping him with promotions, and he's been building up his navy for a much longer period, and he's got the draft.

More just saying that Gav misjudged the situation, Commodore was strong second not dominant. He had to make something happen, and that's why his tactical misstep with the galleons was possible. I suppose I would say Rusten still has something like a 70% victory chance here despite Gav, but it's not quite over.

Sounds like he's prepared for a dogpile and Gav's aims aren't too ambitious, so I'd put Rusten's chances even higher...
