Hey, he even gifted me a ship. Also he seems to be winning the war against Wetbandit so might not need to conquer us.
![]() Launched the Golden Age last turn, revolted to Free Market, Free Religion and Nationhood. We have 34 Knights to upgrade, but I'll skip a step and wait for Cavalry unless Fenn attacks before that. Cities are unhealthy after losing the islands and their health resources. I offered some GPT to Dreylin for his extras.
Hey, thanks for being a good sport through all this! I can't imagine it was much fun to be getting attacked by me several times. In retrospect I should have stayed out of the conflict with you and AM entirely (aside from gifting Copper) and focused on expanding while you where occupied. Your rapid conquests of their eastern cities convinced me you were going to run over them entirely and that I had to hit you to stop you from getting all their land.
I ended up building more military than I ought to have early on, and between that and focusing on infra a bit too much I stunted my growth to no benefit. I think I could've controlled both of the islands to my south if I'd been quicker about settling them, which would have made a huge difference in my ability to compete. An early CKN rush might have helped bring me back after my early failures, but I didn't commit to that well enough to make a difference. Didn't help that you played the war game better than I did. Wow, I never got this message, or any of your others until the ones after I started giving Copper to AM. I don't think I would have accepted this, though - 80 turns is a loong time on any speed, and committing myself to a military alliance with you on Turn 55 wouldn't have been in my interests. I'd rather border HRE, whose UU is hard-countered by mine, than a strong Agg Sumeria. (January 25th, 2016, 12:07)Fenn Wrote: Hey, thanks for being a good sport through all this! It was fun, though that might be partly because I didn't lose the wars ![]() Looks like you've already spotted your mistakes. I was surprised at how much land I ended up getting even with the war delaying my expansion. You might have had success in a war against me if not for that first attack. You had no stack at the time and the war was short-lived. After that I was always playing defensively and expecting to be in a 1v2. Gifting copper to Mardoc was crucial. I had managed to cut off his own copper, and would have taken all his land. I was very close to razing his capital, even with the axes there. Had you taken the capital you would have been able to take the rest of our cities and quite possibly snowball to victory. |
