Honestly, I've nothing against voting for him. I just thought sunrise would get more traction.

No need to declare anyone as winner. You can also vote for declaring all of us losers.
Quote:Diplo victory condition:
At any point player can suggest in a public player thread of declaring someone as winner or totally ending the game without winner. If 3/4 of alive players support it, game ends and winner is declared or game ends without a winner.
If LP seems to be in commanding lead (not yet there), I'll vote for 2nd best nation for diplo victory. This was in my opening for this game and it is still valid:

I wouldn't mind the game ending here. Not because Pin is attacking me (I won't throw in the towel because of that, don't worry) but simply because I lost interest after turn 50 or so.
As plako noted, some teams have been (and still are) taking this PB way more seriously than it ought to be. For me this game is a nice, manageable 10-15 minutes of time each day before moving on to do other stuff. Plans at any point were no more extensive than a handful of in-game signs to remind me of various things. I'm sure that if I spent two hours on the game each day drawing up detailed micro-plans, conducting diplomacy in the public thread and look for opportunities to double move someone, I'd be in a better position than I am now but it's just not what I signed up for (As an aside, this is not a personal snipe against anyone, just a difference in approaches). We can play out this game to its conclusion, like I said it's only 15 minutes a day for me so I don't mind playing the turns, but it seems obvious one of the 'pros' is going to end up winning so we might as well declare them all winners and maybe set them against each other in the next game or something

LP, I don't think the issue is whether or not you double moved someone. Lots of people have and double moving is not against the rules. But as plako quoted the rules, it's about abusing the mechanism, and I don't think anybody has intentionally double moved half as many times as you have. It sounds like you're truly worried about being left at a disadvantage for not double moving, but in reality that worry has caused you to be the one leaving us at a disadvantage. I know a firm number wasn't explicitly set on the rules, but that's because it's so hard to define abuse while keeping the game intentionally free of complicated rulesets.
The best metric I can think of is how many times do you typically log in and play before ending turn? Ideally that average will be as close to 1 as possible, both to keep things moving and to avoid complaints about things like clock manipulation and hiding research. But if you're going to take that guide of once a turn as law then it will just fall apart again.
In any case, kudos for ending turn earlier in the clock this time. I think we're all happy to try to answer questions about it, or hopefully lurkers in your thread can answer if you have questions on specific instances. I've had a couple weigh in when I've asked about if things I've planned are on the shady side or not and I've appreciated their perspective.

So X-com, might want to defend your cities a bit better. Btw it looks like Plako whipped 4 units just now, so I'd be careful there too.

What is this new spirit of community? Advice from our oppressors? Bah. (In Nyanese, "I took his advice and THREW IT ON THE GROUND.") Anyway we're sure Plako must have great medical need to be rushing so many medics through their training. I doubt their hurried preparation will result in any mishap or accidental maiming of any sort.
Oh, and Mao praises Plako's ruthless conversion of blood into hammers, it is an occasion to be celebrated!

LP is playing within the rules, including the spirit of them. I've never known him to play any other way, and I've played a bunch of games with him. If there is a double move rule, he follows it, including allowing his opponent extra time when not specifically required to.
Everyone signed up for double moves. But some of you seem to think it only applies to you, or only to the people on the bottom of the scoreboard, or some other standard I haven't figured out yet.
We have this thread for a reason. If you want to negotiate a turn order with someone, post it here. Has the same weight as NAPs or anything else here (I.E. - not much, but if someone breaks it at least the rest of us will be warned)
Edit. As to ending the game. I took over the Aztec's to help keep the game running for you guys, but the format means that being behind isn't even that fun. I don't have an opinion on who to vote for a winner though. I'd be as inclined to vote it on land area or cities or population as anything else. This isn't a diplo game, so making the most friends doesn't earn you any votes from me.

I'm completely out at this point, and with so many players there isn't really any way of catching up. Consequently, I don't really mind if the game ends. However, I also don't mind who wins. See who has won the most lurker awards and give it to them?
Note: Turns aren't taking very long to play so I'm happy to continue if people want.

I'm kind of enjoying myself. Just empire building. But I'm not doing anything too mind blowing that I would mind ending the game. If enough people want to end it, I'd be cool with that.
I have found serenity! I log in once a day and casually play my turn. :neenernee
And before anyone gets any ideas fear my Hwatcha and War Elephants.
And if we're voting for a winner, I vote Lewwyn.
