Dreylin and Adrien made peace, likely because Dreylin saw this:
There's no way to get through this without siege, yeah. And a lot of siege at that. My own desire to conquer Adrien faces this problem. Once again, damned spears on hills get good odds against phracts and I'm unwilling to lose much for it. I have 7 trebs total... That's not enough.
I'm afraid AT is plotting against me. He has been whipping and he has guilds and gunpowder. I want to build more defenses, longbows and such, for my south, as well as for Jowy land. But it has been difficult to find cities to build those things. My main army city can churn 3 promo phracts, so I don't want to waste those hammers on longbows; I have big plans for phracts that can get a 3rd promo. Well, might as well say it, the plan is amphibious knights to have important Gawdzak cities. I'm strongly considering using Liberalism for Astronomy. Anywa, I need units to defend my new conquests, as well as to reinforce against AT. Hopefully he goes for another target (I know see he player back to back turns with no whips... there's a chance he's earlier whips were just for defense against me, which is pretty nice - in this case, I can plan Adrien's conquest instead).
Question for the lurkers:
If I fort the red tile, can I get naval units from Lilim to the outer sea? My guess is no, but it would be pretty helpful if they could. A great naval production city outside of danger is just what I need. It's obvious that I and Gawdzak will only be able to duel through the sea, so I need ways tp get advantages over him in that department.

I'm pretty sure the fort will work, due to the lake. Any tile adjacent to water can be used as a fort by naval units.

That's great! A pity to lose a mine, but that city will improve my naval capacity by a lot. Now, I can even build my Moai in the inland sea, because I can also bring the units built there. I wanted tu build the Moai in a place where I could use the production for naval units, so the inland sea cities, despite being pretty good for it, were out of the equation. But they are a possibility, once again.

Just finished Education. Tech rate is steadily improving with cities growing and cottages. I think I'll still go for the Lib -> Astronomy plan, even though it will cut a lot of my income due to losing the Colossus. But I'd have to go there eventually, it's mandatory for the map, so better to be the first to it.
Then again, there's a chance Gawdzak goes straight there after Nationalism, which would make things pretty tight. In this case, the advantage I have is being on vassalage, so my boats will be promoted. But maybe he settled some GGs in coastal cities, so even that isn't guaranteed.

This is pretty interesting. Apparently, Mr. Cairo attacked Adrien amphibiously... Man, that's totally crazy. Crazy, but good news for me. I'll get Astronomy way sooner than Mr. Cairo, so I can get all that land to myself, without much problem, I think. This is my main path of expansion going forward, both Cairo's Adrien conquest and Cairo's main land...
I really need to focus on the when and how I'll take Adrien's remaining land. I just don't have the production now, without slavery and while preparing for Oxford University in my main cities. It pains me to wait...
Why no food?
Universities being built. Thanatos will get 2 chops to speed things up. Daena will also speed up with mines.
This is the last university, still working on the library. A workshop is being ready on the plains, to make things quicker.

So, I'm building Oxford. As you can see, the city has potential for a lot more commerce than it's currently working, though it won't be anything super crazy. But might as well build it somewhere, less it'll be like all my games, where I don't do it. Speaking on NWs, I haven't build any other, due to lacking Literature still. I'm only now building Moai Statues, in my gig island city in the inner sea. It took me so long, because I wanted Moai on a place where I could use its production for naval units in the bigger ocean. The canal makes this possible, so I'll build it on the more value long term place. Really, I should have built it aeons ago... Even now I wasted some hammers on a grocer in that city, instead of starting Moai straight up...
What else is up? I secured Liberalism, since I'm 1 turn from it and no one else has Education. I'll use it for Astronomy, as my previous plan. Is this a mistake? I'll lose the commerce from Colossus, which is a big deal, I'll be actually hurting my economy. The advantage is getting my naval power ready way before anyone else, and so I can bully Gawdzak. Can I make enough of an advantage of this naval superiority, so as to compensate for the costs (losing Colossus, not getting another free tech)? I'm not sure, but I'm willing to try. I guess that's the best answer I can give right now.
I have the Amphibious Phracts! Conquering cities will be easy!
After that, I need a GA, likely from the Economics' GM and a generated one, and up we go to Nationalism and the sweet free specialists...

By the way, the Coup is finished in Brazil. There's a non neglegible chance that I'll move to another country now, considering we are transitioning into a dictatorship (there's already cases of censorship in movies against the government, for example). And since I'm a Labor and Social Security lawyer, and the new government is advancing its plataform of ending all Labor and Social Security rights (minimum of 65 years needed for retirement, in a country where avarage life expectancy is 73 years; we heard talks about weekly labor of 80 hours), I'll end up without a job. So, I won't be losing much, really...
The damned thing is that my Diploma is useless everywhere else...

I haven't heard about this at all, are there any good articles out there where I can find out more about the coup? Any countries in particular you are considering as options to move to? Was the coup a popular one or a takeover by a small group of elites?
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!

This one seems good - how close is it to reality Ichabod?

That's a good summary of the last few days, Harry. I promise I'll write something about it this weekend, a broader analysis and my take on all these issues.
Just another note, my friend went to a rally against the impeachment today and was bombed by the police. He's the most peaceful guy I know, and he was bombed, the police actually threw a bomb at him. Meanwhile, the governor of the state where I live, which likely ordered/condoned these bombings, did the same thing Dilma was accused of doing ( irregularities in the budget), while he is also paying only part of the monthly salary of the public servants (like teachers and cops, the guys whose salaries are already small; not judges and politicians, the ones who get a lot get everything on the right day), which is blatantly illegal. Nothing will happen with him, though, no impeachment in sight...
