Ok below is the conversation so far between me and Seifer.

====================================================
Greetings Malakai!

On behalf of the Babylonian empire I am please to find another civilization in the Incan people. At this early stage it is obvious that we are direct neighbours so our relations will be crucial to the success of our empires.

The door to diplomacy has now opened up between us and we encourage active communication as the Babylonian people are very receiving. As this world appears quite small, we expect contact with further civilizations is imminent. To allow good will to prosper between our people we are open to informing you of others we have and will meet, and could even coordinate meetings between these other civilizations if the Incans would agree to reciprocate.

For now, we wish the Incans well and look forward to dealing with your empire in the future.

Greetings Seifer,

I would like to be the first to welcome you to our lands, on behalf of the Incan Empire

I have to say, I am as surprised as you are that we have encountered each other so early on and agree that diplomacy between us as neighbours will be crucial to our futures.

The people of Inca will be pleased to keep you apprised of any future encounters we make between any other civilisations in exchange for you doing likewise...and we also feel that co-ordinating meetings between such cilivisations will be mutually beneficial.

I have sent you an invitation to open up more immediate communications, but in the meantime wish you and the Babylonian Empire all the best.

Kind Regards

Dear Malakai I,

We of the Babylonian Empire are pleased at your response. Consider our mutually beneficial agreement to inform one another of future contact between other civilisations agreed upon.

One thing we would like to raise with you is an additional agreement on espionage spending. Currently we both are spending 4 EPs against each other a turn. To further goodwill between our nations, we are willing to stop spending EPs on you after demographics are available (31 EPs). Hopefully by that stage we will have met other civilisations to swap our EP spending to, or perhaps I will have discovered how to turn spending off by then...

That's all from us for now,

Dear Seifer

I do not see any reason why we cannot both agree to stop spending EP's on each other once demographics are available, however as I am sure you can appreciate this also depends entirely on who else we both meet in the meantime, as far as I am aware there is no way to turn EP's off entirely and furthermore as some buildings are built the amount generated each turn increases.

By default the game distributes available EP's fairly evenly between CIV's you have met, although the distribution of these points can be altered it can only be altered to CIV's you have met in game and furthermore it is likely that other CIV's will seek similar agreements, but as it is impossible to turn this game feature off, it would be impossible to stick to such agreements with everyone we meet.

However that being said, I intend to focus my EP expenditure on other civ's once demographics become available and will do my best within the confines of the game mechanics to do this.

Secondly, a note regarding the timescales of my diplomatic responses. I will always try to respond to your messages in as timely manner as possible. Regrettably, as the leader of the Incan people, I have many duties to attend to which may impact on the timescale of my responses.

(Basically I am at work 10 hours a day, and although i will do my best to ensure I take my turns each day, I fear that schedule may not always enable me to respond to diplomatic messages as frequently as this. Although Wednesdays and Weekends I do not work and therefore on those days I am likely to have much more time for such conversations)

Lastly, I am guessing (perhaps wrongly) that as your envoy arrived in the outskirts of my land from the east that this is the direction of your own territory, perhaps you would be able to confirm this? Also perhaps you can give me some kind of idea how many squares are currently between my own cultural border and yours so that we can begin to agree on what is fair for each of us to claim as our own between us?

Furthermore a little information I have gathered thus far that may or may not expedite your scouting. As you will most likely already know, we appear to be near the northern border of the map and as your warrior either has already gathered or will soon gather, there is a waters edge not far south of the cultural border of my land.

I think that is all for the time being but do let me know if you have anything else you wish to discuss.

Kind Regards

Without the x in the last bit though!

In time we will be expecting dot maps and the like of course! wink

You should name your capital Yellow Rose since your borders are yellow.

Good luck with the game.

Thanks for the suggestions....

Hmm reminds me of the yellow rose of texas, hmmm.

So since my meeting with Seifer I have kept my warrior on my capital defending and have built a Quechua and have started to send this towards the western possible city site to explore this, can already see it includes at least 2 flood plains, horses, corn and fur, which is pretty darn good.

A little update for those who are reading this thread.

Having built my first Quechua, I had sent him up to me intended second city location as mentioned earlier, (the north west one).

I then worked on a settler, I 2 pop whipped a few turns ago, and sent him to follow the route the Quechua had already taken, and have now founded my second city (woot!).

In the meantime I have finished building a second Quechua and started working on another settler.

I received a diplomatic message from Siefer advising me that Cull has a warrior near my south west border, so although my plan for my second Quechua had originally been to look for a third city location and then fortify, I am sending him west to look for that warrior (you never know i might find another good city location in that direction anyway!).

I can see from founding my second city my score has caught up with the rest of the pack, it had been lagging a little in my opinion.

Anyhow, I apologise for the short and un-detailed messages, I am rather busy these days and it leaves little time to update here each turn and i do not keep notes of whats been happening so its all from memory i am afraid smile

From size 4 to size 2? Or 3 to 1?

My first settler was a 4-2 whip.

I was actually popping on just to issue a brief update, my SECOND settler has been produced (no whipping though, will give some more info on that in due course) and also I have now met cull...rather my unit is next to his, I am about to trek through the tech support forum for his email address hope i can find it lol, then we can start our diplomacy

According to Seifer (whose some where to my east), Cull had indicated he is somewhere around the north west corner and I am between them.

He has also indicated that Jowy is somewhere to Seifer's south and Kyan is somewhere to Cull's south, but I have yet to verify all this information.

If this is all true this would mean strike is around the middle of the southern part of the map making him the person i am least likely to encounter or come into conflicts with in the near future.

Ok so the game is finally up and running again, not hundred percent sure if Cull is playing all his turns again or if he still has some help, but either way his turns seem alot quicker than before, which is good.

As always most of the others have been relatively quick with the occasional slow point where turns are arriving outside of peoples usual online slots or people are still getting used to checking for the turn in their inbox.

Anyway its now picking up to an acceptable pace and I feel I will start getting back into things now.

I have had two weeks off work, so it is a shame that the game was not moving for the first week of those as I would in thoery have been able to have played my turn at any time of the day, either way I do not go back til monday so I will keep checking my inbox regularly this week, hopefully we can get more than one turn per day that way (fingers crossed).

In game I currently have three cities, my last one has no food in its inner ring, so its developing slowly, but I am building a Terrace in each city, so that when the borders pop i will be able to work some food, until then that city is not really growing.

The first two cities fare a lot better at the moment being size 5 and 3 from memory when I last checked with the terrace of the first city already being finished, and the second cities terrace completing the end of the turn I played yesterday.

My workers put a road between first and second city, just for speed of moving troops later if needs be, and are currently building a camp and then hooking up the corn for that city.

Cull has been exploring around the bottom of my borders along the coast line, which is fine, my third city is about half way between us being just slightly closer to me, but I am not sure if he noticed the placement yet, as his warrior passed that location a number of turns before I founded and none of his troops have wandered near since, either way in a couple turns have two warriors defending (with an archer being built after the terrace is finished) in case he decides to take offense to the slightly offensive placement of the city.

I was please to note that according to the demographics I am currently 1st on food, probably due to all the crazy flood plains at my second city, not gonna complaint about that!

I am also second to fourth on most of the other important stats, so I am reasonably happy about that. IMHO food is perhaps the most important stat.

I know my gold is low now but it will improve once my cities are working all the correct tiles etc and my furs are all hooked.

Once all cities have a terrace in place they will also have an archer in each so that will be 4 warriors, three archers total, then I will work on another worker in my capital, followed by a settler, depending on growth etc.

Not sure what else to type at the moment, oh and sorry I do not add to my thread often, I have been somewhat distracted from civ with all the halts to the game and i am just thankful when i am able to play my turn and push it onto the next person.
