Although Nyk has been the most active member of the erstwhile CoW in trying to get everyone motivated and organized, she also shares a fair part of the blame for its stillborn failure. She hasn't exactly been subtle about her plans to possibly, probably turn on Mardoc as soon as the CoW finishes with Thoth, and I can't blame Mardoc for therefore being considerably leery about the whole thing.
Yeah, I'm not saying eating the Sheaim is wrong for WK, I'm saying its wrong in context of what the gamestate is now. At this point, you have to stop Thoth or there's no relevancy to what you do beyond it. But yeah, Sheaim should have killed him way back when he walked up on WK's undefended capital. And then when that didn't happen, WK should have killed Sheaim about 50 turns ago.
And yeah, Nyk probably has dropped the ball worrying too much about what might happen after a CoW instead of ensuring there's a CoW. And by the by, is Nyktorion female? I often feel like Nyk writes with a female tone, but that could just be something lost in translation - Nyk is German, I think? Doesn't matter of course, just feel silly playing the pronoun game.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I guess you could ask him/her :P Pretty sure Nyk's a lady though, I seem to recall one of the players who talked with her using the female pronoun.

Well, the problem it seems to me is that people were more interested in spamming cities than actually building any troops (Mardoc being the worst offender in this respect), leading to the current ridiculous situation where the sum of the "coalition"'s accomplishments against Thoth has been to sign a bunch of NAPs that expire at different times.

I don't think Hyborem's wardec is the main factor at all, sure he could have been an asset to the coalition but it had already been derailed a while before the Infernals entered the game.

LOL, Thoth is going to bring some mules to carry the Grimoire off to war. That's going to be hilarious.

What does that thing do anyway? Probably lots of scary stories.

Causes a random effect from a set list. I don't remember the specifics, but many of them are the same as regular spells (that can be quite strong).

That read wrong, didn't mean to imply that Darrell's actions were the primary factor, only that they were *a* factor in the disintegration of the coalition.
Bottom line, the only players in this game who have at any point really committed to a war are Thoth and Nyk. Mardoc and WK especially are smoking quite pungent weed at this point. I'm a noob here, but FFH isn't regular civ. The game is designed for blood to be a big part of it, you have to be willing to do it.
And uber is spot on about the NAPs, WK's latest NAP being his dumbest move all game, even dumber than popping his worldspell without at least trying to talk to Darrell.
I'm probably taking this all too personally, it just had the set-up for a great finish and I'm disappointed its going to end this way. Or maybe I'm frustrated watching these guys make the same stupid mistakes we've all made in PB4.

So, the existence of a traitor in the coalition has been revealed. Nyktorion guessed that it's Heisenberg and I'd think the same in this situation. I'd never believe that WK would be so short sighted. Instead of helping Nyk with some quick strikes, maybe razing or even capturing (nothing thoth can do while WK has sanctuary) some of Thoth border cities, he decided to sign a NAP while can't be attacked even if Thoth wanted to...
Well, if he's happy with the second place, that's certainly a good decision. But I clearly don't see how he can stop Thoth from winning while they have a NAP or even after that...
