Team Bring It!™ Planning Thread

I never had any ideas really. What we can do is start pumping defenses and make ourselves expensive targets for the other teams that thought they'd get freebies by coming at us. Just look at the last stand that Team Merlot did on the CivFanatics MTDG against us. It took us the better part of the game to get through. I think yet that we can hold out for a long time if we start pumping out proper defensive units.

Looks like Lewellyn (sp?) and co have decided to make things interesting for us :hat:

There's a cat + 4 maces parked outside The Alamo. 2 lbs (with G1) and an xbow (unpromoted) and Jkean's Keshik in defence should keep things interesting on their side. smile

No actual content to add....

but it always makes the other teams a bit nervous if you update your spoiler thread on a regular basis....:hat:

I'm itching to find out what happens at the Alamo next turn. smile

(yeah, I know lurkers want pics....I'll see what I can do next turn wink )

Looks like the first Battle of The Alamo was a bit of a fizzle. Lewwyn pulled his forces back on his turn after a couple of rounds of catapult bombardment. Guess he didn't like the odds.

Speaker advanced an Archer onto a bare PH next to the Alamo. I killed it with a Horse Archer at 76% odds (Temporarily renamed "Warrior" to disguise what I actually used. He'll know it wasn't a warrior, but no point in giving out free info). That was enough to get my HA up to 10xp, so I'll have India's HE unlocked as of next turn.

I dialed up research to finish off Guilds.

I've selected Gunpowder as next tech, but it's just a placeholder until we get a team descision on what to tech next.

Options:

Banking: Gets us Mercantilism for a free spec in every city. Two other teams already have it according to F4 so we'll get a 20% boost from "Known civs" as well as the 20% arrow prereq bonus. Does nothing to improve our military atm.

Gunpowder: Muskets and Agg musketeers. Very nice to have available. No-one else has it yet, but our neighbours to the East have the Ottomans as one of their civs so that means Janniasaries, which could prove problematic if they can get some on the board before we get to GP.

Philo/Nationalism: Drafting + maybe a few turns of Pacifcism for India to push out a GP or two.

Something else entirely....

I'm in favour of collecting gold for a few turns while putting our nominal beaker towards GP but I can be persuaded otherwise.

Oh dear.

Sulla must be a bit unhappy with his RNG right now. He committed 3 FWs to road towards India's sentry scout....and lost a "Knight" (probably actually was a Knight) vs India's Archer on a Jungled Grass hill. Not sure what the odds were, but a quick eyeball suggests he had 90+% odds. (Lucky Sod picked up 3 xp on defence).

So I killed a pair of FW's in exchange. jive

Lucky Sod is likely dead next turn, but I'll take that hammer exchange any day of the week. (even if it was due to an RNG screw job.....and make no bones about it, Sullla got screwed by the RNG on this exchange)

Lost a sentry archer to one of Speaker's "Maceman" (maybe...might have been something else....don't believe everything the log tells you...wink )

Upgraded the 10xp HA to Medic 2 and made a chop......1t HE FTW. :hat:

Thanks for the Marble Jkean. smile

Ran the new built settler into Nabaxo's lands and gifted it....please don't miss this turn Nabaxo...it looks like you missed your last turn. frown Build queues can cover some of the missed turn nonsense, but please, guys, if you don't think you can make your turn, make a post in here (and better yet, send the rest of the team an email) so that the turn can be covered.

We've got ~15 h remaining on the clock for our turn.....I can play in the morning if needs be, but some input onto what our next tech should be would be appreciated.

We are supposed to be a team here. smile Some input would be welcome. smile

If you really care about the units, just open up the combat log and look at the strength differential smile

Woops. I can play the turn when I get back from work in eight hours or so. How long do we have on the clock?

17hrs according to the ingame clock (which if IUC doesn't correspond very well to actual real time).

According to CivStats, the Mongols missed another turn.

Jkean, what's going on? Are you still interested in playing out this game?

If not, please say so.

If you are, then a bit more attention to the Tech Thread or Civ Stats would be appreciated.

I can cover your turns if needed, but I do need a "heads up" either via a post here or an email.

Missed turns are killing us as a team and letting the clock wind down virtually every single turn is discourteous to the players on the other teams.

If you've got RL stuff to deal with, NP. Nabaxo and I can cover your turns, but we do need to know ahead of time so we can arrange to play your turns for you.

Please let us know what is going on.
