You should probably count the votes more clearly for the speed setting. A team shouldn't get more than one vote just because more of their members speak up.

I think every team should find their preference and state it clearly here.
Another thing. Default Medieval start gives 25 gold in the beginning. I'm keeping that unless otherwise instructed.

But Quick speed will eliminate ANY chance warfare had, which seems a bit...odd for an AW game.

I've been rethinking the game speed issue. A 48 hour turn timer (so more like 60 hours in real time) + normal speed is going to be insanely slow. I'm not sure I have the patience for a game that slow. On the other hand, I don't want to do quick speed because it's just too hard to mount a successful invasion on quick speed (unless you're way ahead already).
How about this as a compromise: quick game speed for faster production, but on immortal difficulty (for slower teching) and flat world wrap (for decreased city maintenance).

What is the problem? All MP games are played on Quick Speed and Noble difficulty level. There is more war in MP than in SP. I'm not sure of the obsession in these RB games of upping the difficulty level. You are playing against fellow humans, not against the AI. The difficulty levels are meant to balance the scales against an inept AI.

As for the turn timer....from the beginning, it was said that this is going to be a different type of game. The turns will move slower. We are chopping off 82 turns from the beginning. It is still faster than PBEM (most likely). If you don't want to play...don't play. We'll find someone else.

Sorry, I missed responding to this. The lakes map needs cylindrical wrap, or there will be teams that are too safe in the corners. Immortal difficulty is simply unnecessary.

Do we even have a GM or Ref?

Can we get one since it would be nice to actually tally the results of the various polls as well as to manage the game? Don't want Krill jumping in at the last second again amiright?
