@Krill: I was yesterday because I was in a public library but I'm home now.
@Broker and dsplaisted: I was hoping that because that explains why I can't connect now and the library firewall might explain why I couldn't connect yesterday. Hopefully it works tonight. I'll be about all evening although I too am from Europe and have work in the morning so I can't stay up too late. sunrise089 Wrote:Yes, the reason is my technical incompetence. Sullla sent me the game as a worldbuilder save, but the Pitboss program doesn't see the file - apparently it only wants a regular civ save game. What do I do?Sunrise, firstly, no idea if this will work, but ...
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I don't think this works for us Ruff. I followed all your steps, and they work, however when the game launches the ten unclaimed spots are assigned to AIs who settle their cities.
I figured it out (I think). Instead of saying new game or load game, choose "new scenario." It looks like you will need to save the worldbuilder file to the directory where all the other ones it lists are.
EDIT: And it looks like that location is %PROGRAMFILES%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\PublicMaps.
Had my wife do the worldbuilder thing and I'm not getting good results with that either. When I open the file I'm forced to pick a leader, and then once again the AI settles everyone else. Help!

Ok, the official game should be up. Let me know if there are any problems, especially cities already settled
![]() EDIT: For some reason the worldbuilder file has Shadyforce as a player, while everyone else is "Mansa Musa" or "Zara" or whatever. Anyone have any idea why? |
