Seems fair to tell him, since he wasn't playing when it fell.

If he had been playing all along I'd say don't tell him, but since he replaced a player and wasn't in the game when it happened I think it's fair to tell him liberalism has been grabbed already.

I know this, and I'm guessing Mardoc may as well, just that he hasn't thought to check, basing his tech progress as a baseline for others and not really knowing how far ahead they might be. A player from the beginning would have a better sense of that perhaps than a sub. I would hate for him to hatch a brilliant scheme only to find out Liberalism was never there in the first place because it was already gone when he started playing. I don't think it impacts the game too much, but it could potentially decrease his frustration significantly.

If no one strongly objects, I think I'll gently encourage him to make sure that any first-to bonuses/wonders he may be planning for have not already disappeared. I'll wait a little while to do this, maybe by tomorrow. If he was not a sub, I would not suggest this.

I'm the bad guy, I already posted. Ought to be enough of a signal since his last post discussed Liberalism.

Ordinarily I wouldn't be in ones to correct him but he is a sub and may be aiming in the wrong direction unwittingly. I don't know if he would know who build Taj via the event tracker had he been playing at the time but he would have seen that someone built it and then known Liberalism was gone. Just a thought.

Well, is Liberalism gone? Taj requires Nationalism, not Liberalism. Looking at Mardoc's tech screen, noone seems to have Lib.

Zanth 'Can Research' Lib. Catwalk doesn't even have Education. Just about everyone else has Paper in 'Can Research' which means they're not any closer than I am - well, except Jowy who appears not to even have Code of Laws.

If Zanth is paying the least bit of attention he'll be able to grab Liberalism before I can, but if I threaten it he'll hopefully at least grab it before it gives him something like Assembly Line.

Or did you mean something else?

Edit: Ideally Catwalk should be the one threatening Lib. Elizabeth, man, if she can't do the Liberalism race what good is she? But...he's focused on drafting muskets to beat on Jowy.
I have to run.

lol And I call myself paying attention to this game. At least I can explain away my comment without spoiling anything. rolf

I've never figured this out. Where does the UI tell you?

Tech screen tooltip, I think.

I'm still too dumb to find it. Mousing over a tech on F6 shows the "First to discover receives a Great X", and the coloring is the same whether it has been discovered. Right clicking on the tech to bring the info screen, I can't distinguish any difference there either.
