[Spoilers] CH tries to be more than a warm body

We have a lot of stuff we want though: Fishing, AH, Mining->BW, Wheel->Pottery, and possibly a religion and/or Oracle (though I don't think we need it considering we have Ivory, Terraces, CHM, and cheap HR units).

I agree, it's hard to find a place to slot in Fishing since it won't give our Workers something else to do, but it's very cheap to research now and probably shouldn't be delayed more than a few techs since the Fish and the Cows are the only tiles in Cuzco's BFC that can reach above 3 food. Being able to grow quickly (and regrow after whips - CHM gives an extra buffer to whip anger) onto our tiles is important.

But yeah that's some great land..rivers, hills and forests galore. Actually I like the dynamic created by Cuzco's riverside forested Ivory; by chopping the tile you exchange 1h yield for 1c yield + 20/30 hammers, which could be worth it later on if production in the capital isn't important.

I skipped a turn of reports tongue

Biggest news is that the hut gave us Hunting--only saves us two turns of research, but it's something.

Another two turns skipped, but there is something interesting here on T6:

We have our first neighbor, Donovan Zoi. We also finished Mining and moved on to Fishing--that's a bad choice in retrospect, as the work boat isn't coming out for a while (I'm growing to size 2 first, right?) and my worker is starting to run out of stuff to do. I'm not sure whether Wheel, AH, or BW is best for the next tech through.

Since you have Mining you could mine the riverside grassland hill 2S of Cuzco before it reaches Size 2. Compared to camping the Ivory:
Hill Mine: 1/3/1
Ivory Camp: 1/4/1
Ivory doesn't offer a great difference over the Hill Mine (but it may still make a difference depending on how micro shakes out ofc); my suggestion for tech path is BW -> AH -> Wheel.

Yeah, the southern hill is the obvious next choice, though the Fish wouldn't be awful if we still want to grow--I really need to spend some time on simming, but it's not the fun part--I have decks with Battle for Zendikar cards to brew!

I'm way behind on updates, but a couple notes until I finally post a new picture:
* The hut in the last screenshot gave us 40 gold
* We met Serdoa this turn, in the north

Here's T12 as promised:

Other than that, not much is happening--I completed pasturing the cows, the Quecha completes in two turns, and I grow in four--is it worth starting the settler for the good spot as soon as I grow, or do I want to wait a bit (either until size 3 or the second Quecha completes--again, I haven't done sims yet)? I should have a mine done for the city (one that I'd share with the capital), so I can work that while farming the corn, maybe building a work boat? I really should do sims, but there's more fun stuff I can do tongue

How many workers do you have? Would it be feasible to eg. chop out a Monument when the city is first founded then grow working a Quechua? Since the city would take 10t to pop borders you don't need to build the Work Boat ASAP, you could even have Cuzco build it.

Whether the Settler is worth building now depends on what your Worker/tech situation would look like when the Settler would come out - also, if you delay the Settler to grow to Size 3, it might be possible to whip it to completion and get it out quickly anyway. It's hard to say definitively, could you show Cuzco's BFC next turn? smile

It's been a bit, and I think I missed the last post, but here's a post with some updates:

I'm starting the settler this turn, 10 turns seems fine (and then there's a possible whip). Other than that I got another hut with the eastern Quecha (which was a map--at least it wasn't barbs; I meant to ask what the chances of that were/if they could occur this early, but I ended up rolling the turn), so here's the rest of what we can see:
