Turns out that my inability to find the "Temporarily switch back" menu option after being forcibly switched over to the "new compose bullshit experience" wasn't because I was forcibly obliged to play lab rat, but rather because I normally shift-click to open a compose window, and the menu option DOESN'T EXIST on those message windows but DOES exist if you don't shift-click. Found that out entirely by accident about half an hour ago. I dunno about y'all, but if I was going to do a public betatest, I'd for damnsure not force it on randomly selected users - and if I was going to do so anyways, I'd at least for damnsure make sure the option to switch back wasn't hidden in a corner that turned invisible if you look at it funny. But apparently Google's approach to temporary feature tests is now "go fuck yourself." (no, I am not having a fun day with the softwares and the coding and the testing and the explosions; why do you ask?)
It's not a beta test...the new compose is the current version of Gmail. They are just temporarily supporting the legacy version as well right now. Google probably hid the option to switch back to old Compose when you open the Compose button in a new window because that is the fundamental difference between new and old Compose - whether it takes up your main window or not.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)

It'd goddamn well BETTER be a beta test, 'cause if basic fundamental functionality that only works consistently in Chrome and Chrome-based browsers is their idea of polished production code, then they've been taking too many strategies from circa 1990s Microsoft. ![]() And on the actual subject of the thread, the save has been sent on.
