Turn 85
84 happened somewhere but it wasn't particularly interesting, 85 wasn't exactly a blinder either :P
A settler and worker are in a galley and ready to go and found 'stone city'.
That'll be founded only twenty turns or so after everyone else has stone
Everywhere else is seeing infrastructure builds:
Markets in established cities so we can actually afford to settle new ones.
Libraries in newer cities for some tasty 6 beaker specialists (and border pops)
Confuscian monastery in Dirty Dishes- So it can pump out some missionaries ready for our golden age.
A granary in TMC, which got severly hit by being one popped whipped twice during the war with Sian
Everywhere is lower then their happy caps currently, this will change shortly because whipping will become less frequent and Civil Service will be coming soon for some spreading irrigation action. Note to self: need some more workers for when that happens. Additional note to self: Change builds up BEFORE they have enough hammers in to become one pop whips. I've been doing a terrible job with the whipping cycle these last few turns.
Finally, the demographics screen, it doesn't look great but whips have been frequent lately.
We are number one in power though, here's why:
Intimidating huh?

Only 23 food between best and worst? From where I stand, that makes this a pretty cool game!

Turn 86-
Infra was built, settler was ferried to stone island. Avoid growth was left on in Smelly Socks
Turn 87-
A 17th Century astronomer was born 12 centuries too early. He's going to be saved up and used to bulb Philosophy in eight turns or so.
Our 11th city was founded, unnamed as of yet. I'm thinking it would should be groomed as our Moai city, it has the same amount of ocean tiles as too much Jewelry and is in the ocean between us and Sian, who is a more likely target than Xenu. Catwalk what do you think?
Also in the turn
Avoid growth was left on in SS
Turn 88-
I recieved the save with a message from Dazed
Wow! Sian settled UP on you in the jungle area!
He's both right and wrong, and a bit eager for another war between Sian and us I feel.
Annoyingly he's probably going to steal our rice, which could then allow him to one move TMJ. I've diverted a missionary meant for HA in order to help puch back his culture.
Cultural issues are also apparent in the tundra, Dazed's third ring has stolen our deer
I completed the camp up top that turn, but the picture looks more worrying if the city is starving.
Both of these are a direct result of the war with Sian, infrastructure was delayed for unit whipping. Had it not been for the war both cities would have had a library, securing the deer and making third ring borders pop much quicker in TMC.
Basically I still don't think the war was worth it, particularly when you consider that Sian is top in all of these demographics. We didn't really slow him down.
I did some more exploring with the galley, we'll settle the small marble island next (4 turns give or take a turn), before getting onto the big island in approximately 8 turns.
Final food for though, we have 11 cities.
Xenu, Sian and Dazed have 13,14 and 15 respectively. We need more settlers
Oh, and I'm sure you'll be delighted to hear that I did finally remember to turn off avoid growth in Smelly Socks.

Oh, and Celiazul I definitely agree with this being a nicely balanced game right now. It's looking like there are some fun turns ahead .

Nice job on the NAP, handing over a chariot was reasonable. Do we still have the great general? It looks like we'll have a lot of peace coming up, so we should definitely stake out some land claims. Do you wish to focus on the jungle area or the islands? With a few markets coming in, we'll be able to produce a lot more cash if necessary with merchant specialists. So there should be little risk of crashing our economy.
I agree with your assessment of dazed, he's full of it. Sian's settlement is well within his sphere of influence, the location is hardly surprising. As long as we manage to hold on to the eastern dyes, I'm not concerned. I think dazed will have a very hard time getting enough military techs with how crappy his GNP has been while expanding like crazy, how do you feel about planning on a 2v1 against him with xenu? How long do the NAPs with Sian and dazed last?

Our GG has become a medic chariot, this has the side effect of unlocking the heroic epic, which means I may stop by Literature soon, particularly because we will quickly have access to marble.
Tha NAP's expire turn 110 with dazed (his turn) and turn 111 with Sian (our turn).
Although I think Dazed has been more problematic with his diplomatic wriggling I still think Sian is the better target. This is mainly due to positioning, it's far easier to combine a land and naval invasion force for us on Sian then on Dazed. This has the important effect of meaning if we went to war with Sian with Xenu it'd be easier for us to keep most of the spoils, but if we went the other way Xenu would find the land the easiest to grab.

I'm sorry I haven't been updating much and this one is going to be pretty crap. I have a lot of university work at the moment (been writing an essay all of today), and the WW game takes a fair amount of attention.
Last few turns I've still been building infrastructure, and have settled marble island. There have been some settling problems though, Sian is going to settle on our preffered site for the main island. I was pretty stressed when he was going on about it. So I basically told him if he settles there he can expect retribution. I sent him a reply about a site which would annoy me less but still gets the same resources for him, but he didn't reply, so I assume he was annoyed. Xenu has also settled one of our preffered jungle sites, he knew about it because we tried to arrange a settling aggreement with him. For some reason we let him leave the conversation to go and check it through with boldly and it never got confirmed to my knowledge. This is particularly annoying, because firstly for some reason I remembered an agreement being in place, so didn't rush to the site. Secondly, I think we have been a good ally to Xenu, i.e. lending him at least 20 turns of happiness resources effectively for free. A heads-up would have been nice.
We are starting to fall behind in the demographics and cities. I think the only way we can redress the balance at this point is stealing somebodies land. In two turns I will fire our first golden age, I'm going to go all out techwise; read lots of caste scientists during it. After a period of golden ages (will be expanded on in more detail in the next few days when I'm in the golden age and do some calculations), I will hope to have teched up to currassiers, convert over to virtually entirely MFG and go and attempt to stomp someone. Anyone could be the target at this point.

I'm still totally interested in this game. You guys started off with a blistering reporting pace, no one can blame you for tapering off... thanks for keeping us in tune.
You guys got 'mids right? So caste/rep scientists in a golden age? Yeah, can't go wrong there.

Cheers Celiazul, in fairness not too much has been happening currently. Ill get a more thorough report out about the golden age towards the end of the week.

Ok folks some updates for y'all, first will just deal with the technology situation, because I researched alphabet turn 94.
So in typical regoarrarr (I believe he was the first) fashion:
We have 5332 total beakers.
Sian
5216 total beakers
Has on us: Theo, Feud, Mono, Monarchy, Aesthetics, Lit and HBR
We have on him: CS, COL, Philo, Construction, Alpha.
Xenu and Boldly
3935 total beakers
Has on us: Poly, Mono
We have on him: Calendar (seriously???), Alpha, Philo, Construction
Dazed
2603 total beakers
Has on us: Nothing
We have on him (deep breath): Med, CS, Alpha, HBR, Construction, Machinery, Philosophy.
Conclusions: Happily everyone is still at least two technologies away from Optics, although everyone has access to triremes. So no technological naval supremecy as of yet.
Xenu and Boldly haven't got Calendar yet and are relying on our generosity of gifting happiness yet are settling up on us? To be honest the diplomacy between our nations has been much colder since Catwalk dropped out, which is certainly my fault considering I tend to be rather slack working the diplomacy lines. Ah well, just have to take someone elses land instead.
Militarily Dazed is looking by far the weakest.
Solid news on the golden age plans will come tommorow. I've spent all day writing and I'm a bit written out now.
