Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Serdoas and Nobles Thread with a little bit of Gaspar sprinkled in

Just noticed you were posting. This is what I was going to say...

Quote:Okay...CH declared war on us to get his scout through at Mogor, but didn't offer peace. Why did you take the deal then bro? We should offer peace I guess? Could also kill his scout but no need to antagonize him I guess. Even though he just did something really dumb.

Loss of gems and odd war notwithstanding, I think we should send the capital archer 2N this turn towards Ragnaros. I think we want to settle the next city northeast of there and Borsche is watching us.

We can easily kill the scout if you want. We have the cow roaded so any unit in Mogor can kill it. I logged out, up to you if you want to kill it.

Just back home now.

Regarding the scout: It's ok. I'm pissed, but not really because of his actions. I don't think that move made any sense for him, but its the same as it was with his Chariot. It is just dumb. Makes it easier for us to decide to kill him down the road though wink

I'll move the archer from the capital now though. It is a good idea to make that city a little bit more secure.

plako has 472 gold. At this stage, it probably means he missed a wonder? Don't think saving as much would make sense.

Also, we will have the MoM in a few turns. Just need a plan how to get 8 workers in place to chop simultaneously. We can get 60 hammers overflow from whips, by chaining 2 whips, each 1 pop one onto the other. We should be able to get Calendar in 9 turns I think. So in 10 we could finish MoM.

Way to do it (potentially):

Calendar finishes EOT89, MoM buildable T90.

Build-queue OME:

EOT82: Finish worker, no overflow. Start next worker (15hpt currently)
EOT86: Worker at 59/60, whip 1 pop. 4 pop left, worker at 89/60.
EOT87: Chariot 9hpt (Copper 4, GL-Mine 2, Gold 1, Sheep 0 + city tile 1)
EOT88: Chariot whipped 48/30
EOT89: Worker finished 121/60 (one hammer too much, but can be corrected easily) -> 60 overflow
EOT90: MoM 70/300 (+50% marble bonus) - again 10 hammers too much that don't help, still need 8 chops

Also, longer chains must be setup 15+ turns before the actual build, just something to keep in mind for the next time. I always forget that this really has to be decided very early. Alternatively we can think about building a settler and chopping into it on T89, producing up to 100 overflow in theory and - if we actually could setup roads as and pre-chop, could save some workers. We would however lose the worker turns upfront, so I believe it would be a wash, hence I haven't thought in that direction too much (also my brain hurts from work already).

Anyhow, if we pre-chop the forest 1SE of OME the worker that finishes on EOT89 can chop it T90. Leaves 7 more workers. We have 3 at Paletress that certainly can be moved in the right way, leaves 4 workers. 1 is finished in OME at EOT82, one in Blingtron next turn. Leaves 2. The one near the capital, the one on stone, the one next to stone building cottages? Should be enough. I'd appreciate if you would have time for the worker-micro if you do like that plan in general Noble. You are certainly better in it than I am and I probably miss half the stuff that we want to do in between as well.

And last point: We are leading GNP at 100%. We are 3rd in Food. Looks not so bad.

plako's gold is definitely high, yes. Could definitely be a failed Pyramids or Hanging Gardens build. The latter seems highly unlikely given plako's city count though.

I accepted CH's reoffer of the gems/gold trade. I switched our EP allocation over to plako. He would otherwise get research visibility on us next turn, and while we can't stop him from getting it we can delay it by 3t if we spend max on him for the next 3t. I believe Donovan is spending on us again and we might lose graphs for a couple turns, we'll just have to live with that I guess. His power has been spiking a bit and he seems to be building a stone wonder on the border (I'd guess Great Wall, don't see anything else), so we do need to be careful for the next few turns.

Plan looks good, but I don't think the stone worker can contribute because he'll only finish the quarry t86. The Blingtron cottage will finish t84. Normally the worker would road in place, but since that takes 3t (you can have the stone worker finish the road for it and it would shift on t87) we might have to just have it waste a turn and walk into the city. The Pagle worker can be the final one, the capital worker should stay near the National Epic location instead. I'll put up some more signs as we get closer to get the guys in place.

Something to keep in mind is seeing if we can/should finish the tech on t88 with aid of gold builds if needed. I don't think we actually need to put two turns into the chariot before whipping given the extra 10h at the end.

You are right Noble. I've made a mistake on my plan. On T86 we whip the worker and start the chariot, so T87 we can already whip it. It comes out to the same amount of overflow as now, as I simply forgot the hammers we would put into it on T86. So yeah, if we can finish Calendar EOT88 that would be fine.

Tech won't be faster, we need Sailing, I forgot.

Your entire plan is actually correct - we can only whip the worker on t87, not t86, since we need four full turns to put the prerequisite hammers in.

Should we whip the settler at Overspark? It would be a 3-pop whip with ~30 overflow. Would speed up the Library and we can regrow to 4 within a turn. Or alternatively put the overflow into a worker of course.

Regrow plan:

1st turn: 17+10 = 27/26 (4 pop)
2nd turn: 14+11 = 25
3rd turn: 25+11 = 36/28 (5 pop)
4th turn: 22+12 = 34/30 (6 pop)
5th turn: 19+13 = 32/32 (7 pop)

For the last one we need 4 floodplains cottages to work, but I think we have those. Even if not, we need 4 turns now to finish the settler, so we are at the same pop at the same time, just get it earlier, gain some overflow and basically lose mostly out on working the 1/3/0 tile, which isn't that big a lose imo.

edit: and instead of the chariot, we can whip a workboat at OME, to help the new city along.
