Here's the Tear List:

K, but try and report.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
Retire to AI might be the best way to combat barbs so we can get the AI bonus against them. Then reclaim at the turn roll and live with whatever chaos has been done elsewhere...
Now I'm kind of glad I delayed the gold city. If a chariot is incapable of beating a barb warrior, I shudder at the thought of our poor warrior cowering inside the city against that mighty foe.
We're going to have to wait to play the turn after dtay:
There's some nice ivory there next to his second copper. But lol at his worker with no protection on the borders.
Whip worker, move warrior back, move worker off copper (it should road next turn, new worker out of Cock has options depending on the barb, the two workers at Eldorado should be fine to get the roads and gold up.) New worker at the cap is cottaging>cottaging>mining>roading wheat I think. Gaspar, you already reset Atlantis so good there. Eden is growing still. Nothing else really to report.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
My comments were prescient, btw - Commodore finished the Oracle this turn.
More bad news:
The barbs advanced as such. I'm not sure why we thought the Barb would go to the sheep over the horses, but he's going to pillage that tile next turn. Now, provided we don't lose on another .9% roll, the chariot in Cockaigne will be born at EOT and be able to clear him out, but we're going to have to repasture the horse. So dtay, now'd be a great time to come murder us if you're following. Also, why does he have 2 copper? I'll assume it was a lucky pop from a mine rather than nobody bothering to review the maps.
Anyway, I think its time to hit the reset button on current plans and figure out how we're going to get the stuff we need done and stop the barbs from ruining our day. Obviously we're going to have to change builds in the capital since we're about lose the horses. I guess a warrior will have to do for the meantime. We still need 19h to finish the chariot so there's no way even working suboptimal tiles get it done this turn. I cancelled all the workers so we have maximum options.
If you don't have time to kibitz, Lewwyn, I'll run through the options and revise the plan myself later this evening.
I guess its always something. If it isn't 2 chariots, its 3 barb warriors. The lesson as always - Civ is a harsh mistress.

As long as I'm thinking about it, since the lurker thread is spammy and I can't possibly imagine that any of the other players are more interesting than me - I'm not blaming losing the horse to RNG - that's us stretching ourselves too thin to get the gold in play as fast as possible.
But to anyone being too sanctimonious in their trolling we have had some shit luck this game. The scout loss impacted a lot and was bad luck and obviously the 0.9% roll is something nobody is going to plan for this early in the game.
