Of course it is a reference, Quintus
![]() The terms were that OH returned me my size 17 capitol and I spared his 3 commando infantries
But my civ pc broke, so now I am at the mercy of other laptops owners, so I am not in best shape to play anyway
Due to all the pauses and obviously short timer for the recent state of the game, I am still at war with Old Harry. I had an offer for peace from him and I clicked to accept, but it did not passed as it seems.
Not that I have much against being eliminated quickly and clean, but still...
Finished another thread!
Just wanted to say: you had a great start to your thread Ichabod - I spent ages puzzling over your city names and don't really feel any the wiser now - shame it faded as your hopes did. Also apologies for the attack, but (as you may not have the time or willpower to dredge from our thread) we were just too tempted by the light defences and thought we could hold the island due to naval superiority after we destroyed your coastal cities. As you found with William, our close neighbours also weren't going to be easy targets so we had to make gains somewhere if we were going to win .2MetraNinja - thanks for taking over but maybe next time you could be a little less effective . Your use of forts was very sneaky . What were your intentions for all the cannons and rifles we killed in your fort? If we'd had another couple of commando units to raze the city E of your capital as well we thought we stood a good chance of keeping DP - we had a couple of MGs, 2-3 Artillery and 10 or so Infantry and 3ish Cavalry to unload over there - would that have been enough?

You totally was leading the game between us, guys. I was not paying good attention and you managed to beat me bad on few occasions.
What was in those galleons I sank if you remember to say it halted your war plans vs Dtay? With those canons and rifles you killed while in galleons when you took out my fort, I was having idea to try to take back some of my/Ichabod's ex-cities on the big island. I think I had big enough culture there to actually fight on my own culture. Or at least annoy you some. About holding cities on my mainland, I dont think so. I cantbe100% positive, but at the end of the game I had like 30 catapults 30-40 rifles and tens and tens knights and cavalries, so no, with 10-15 units even if modern, you were not going to have any chance to keep this city. Those galleons weren't full but there were a handful of amphi infantries that could have been useful Quote:About holding cities on my mainland, I dont think so. I think what OH means is that were your units in position to strike immediately because given two turns reinforcements would have arrived. I think it would have been at least interesting if we would have managed to raze that one nearby city and artist bomb had forced you to first march through our culture. You killed five of our galleons and six amphibious Infantry. ![]() (July 28th, 2014, 15:48)2metraninja Wrote: With those canons and rifles you killed while in galleons when you took out my fort, I was having idea to try to take back some of my/Ichabod's ex-cities on the big island. I'm glad we didn't just destroy peaceful galleons - they were a bit far away, so I wasn't sure what the intention for them was, but we couldn't take the risk... I was hoping that we'd split your empire in two meaning two smaller stacks to defeat and (as FT says) that the great artist culture you'd need to wade through would have given us a chance to get more reinforcements (drafted out of the island). Long-term it would probably have been easy for you to encroach by settling cities nearby and popping borders, but I wish we could have tried it.
