Quote:Dear Dantski,
Those terms sound fine to us. We're more than happy to renegotiate our NAP on T65, or even sooner if you like. And once we both have Demographics visibility, we can both switch our EP spending to other teams. I seem to remember hearing from another game that 43 EP for both teams is the perfect number to get visibility on the charts. Maybe we can both shoot for that.
Stay in touch and let us know how you're doing. Best wishes.

So do you have NAP with all your neighbours now? Time to expand then?

Still no reply from Nakor/DMOC on the NAP, I'll send them a reminder.
Completed my worker this turn and he's gone to camp up the fur. After that he'll mine or chop a forest on a hill to speed up the settler build.
Skirmisher due in 5 turns and Timbuktu will grow to size 4 on the same turn.
BW ready in 2 turns.
Plako was the first person to whip last turn.
Starting warrior has returned to the capital and the northern one has got a bit more scouting done.
That 'mad hammer' site will certainly be a stretch as its far closer to India than it is to me and will be difficult to defend when 1000BC arrives. However if I can grab my northern coast site + this site it would seal off expansion short term for India in my direction. I'm tempted by the site because I think most of the Indian exploration has been NE of their city and they might not be planning on settling here quite yet.
So a question for lurkers, should I be trying to settle this long reach site ASAP after my coastal city or should I just forget about it? Or should I even go to grab this site first?

ARRRRRRRRGHHHHHH
I sent an email to Nakor/DMOC and after sending it showed they had sent me a reply agreeing to the NAP 4 days earlier!
But gmail didn't notify me of any emails and there was nothing from them in my inbox, I'm starting to dislike gmail...

With Skirmishers, you can probably risk that sort of site, but be sure to put it on a hill and clear out the forests ASAP as Team Spulla will not be amused by such a Pink Dot move. I wouldn't make it city 2 as it's too far away, and is rather weak food-wise. In fact, I'd probably make city 3 1N of the silks to claim 4(!) happy resources, and stick to the coastal spot for city 2.

Bah - had problems with gmail as well - I feel for ya there!
On the settler, it's a tough call! Which way is your thinking leaning towards at the moment?
Out of curiousity, are you intending to break out Mr Whippy when slavery comes in?

Your mad-hammer is (imho) far too close to the KA team. If yo also had that it need the rice to be able to work all his hills, I am pretty sure that they will start by settling close to the rice to steal your food and then the city will be worthless.
On top of that, they might settle their 1st (or even 2nd) city around before you have any chance to get there.
Considering the position of both civ, I would be happy with 'just' stealing the gold (posibly settling on the hill NW of gold to grab the dye... but since you have no visibility east, they might be a better place with food).
Your 1st city ('x') is also not bad for hammer with 2 food and 4 hills and 4 forrest to chop.

Normally I wouldn't consider it but I really want to maximise my land. I also figure with the lack of scouting they've done south that the site may not be one of their first sites to settle. Add on the possibility of getting a religious holy city if people continue to ignore them and I've got some cultural defence too.

Has to be the coastal Rice/Fish first. After that it'll probably be a city to grab the gold, need to work out where.

Yeah I'm thinking most of my whips will be settlers to get the most out of the +50% production bonus. First settlers overflow will go into a work boat for city 2, after that we'll see.

It's strange but I feel like its 'my' gold since the land to my immediate SE isn't so hot. Like I said though I probably need to try a dotmap or two to figure out what I'd like to do here

Well, this gold is (at least) 2 tiles closer to their capital than yours. We both know that they moved before settling, (but I am not sure you know which way or how far ). So settling even 1North of the gold could be very well be consider aggressive.
