I think I left the thread open overnight because I was too lazy to read it that night.

Good bye, Ser Barristan.
Note: Whosit has a barracks up. Interesting.

T50 Update (yeah, I know, it took me a while to get it together):
Theology: NEXT TURN, out of Vaes Dothrak. I love the Obelisk.
Civil Service: As of T51, I'll be at 66/134, making 16GPP/t. So, on T56, I can have my Great Prophet bulb Civil Service.
For posterity's sake, I also have 3 cities total, but Winterfell isn't anything special; the Sheep gets improved next turn, and it'll just work its sheep + silver to great effect. One problem with Quick speed is that you need more workers than on Normal, because workers are less efficient at improving tiles (rounding really hurts them).
And Demographics:
Decent GNP, I'm below-average in MFG and Crop Yield, but I've built the Oracle and am about to bulb two techs. And, also, have a settler being built.

What techs need to be skipped to be able to bulb Civil Service with a Prophet?

Monarchy. He wrote something about what to bulb with a prophet a couple of posts earlier.

Yeah, Graf is right: Monarchy's the only thing that I have to avoid. Since it takes also teching Theology, and clearing out all of the religious techs, the beakers saved aren't as many as I'd have liked, but Theology will be very nice to have, and I'm fairly certain I'm getting to Civil Service well ahead of the other players.
I'll probably pick up Monarchy next, and then who knows? Maybe I'll start running scientists at the capital for a Bureaucademy, and if I getting a Prophet off of the mixed odds with the Prophet, then I get a shrine instead. Darn.
In PB3, Krill had the same tech constraint: I couldn't give him Monarchy until he'd bulbed CoL with his Prophet (as a player, I can spoil all I want, and that was 60t ago, so it's not particularly critical information; half of it was public knowledge anyway). Of course, since he used the Oracle on Alphabet, he couldn't grab COL, Theo, and Civil Service with two Prophets + the Oracle (and a Prophet wouldn't have finished Civil Service anyway on that map, with Huge/Emperor costs, instead of Standard/Noble).

And now it's time for what I like to call "Fun With War Chariots."
I stumbled across Whosit's axe last turn, but didn't have the move to kill it. You can see where the axe was.
Decided that he moved the axe north, and found that he'd taken Woody I to heal up to 4.4, but I still get odds on him, even on a forested hill. Next turn, that axe is done. There's nothing he can do unless he's got a unit lying in wait to cover. Also, using axes against Egypt? Not a terribly smart plan IMO. I get mobility and equal strength and that giant attacking bonus for fewer hammers. Sure, on defense we're 50:50, but are those really the odds you want? Whosit should be spamming spears, or axe-spear pairs, forcing me to make some axes.

You've gained another dedicated lurker. Haven't so much as opened up this sub-forum before, so I'm completely unspoiled. Well... in that sense of the word.

Having played with Krill in PB3, it's nice to finally see the power of war chariots and obelisks in action. Obviously I have seen their effects in the PB game but I appreciate watching it from a lurker's standpoint. You've inspired me to try another SP game, thanks.
You can get a look at a t-bone by looking up the bulls ass but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

I am dedicatedly watching this thread. If you have time to update, would be great, but I understand being too busy. Either way I'm rooting for you in this game.
