Mmmm, religions (plural) and shrines sound tasty in this game. All the more reason to get Egypt?

Personally I'm a big fan of IND, and tend to like that one a lot. But then again, I'm a Wonder whore and love getting them.
![]() As an FYI, I'm in the airport right now to fly out to MI for moving my fiance to the east coast. I'll be very unavailable for much of the discussions until Monday night. I will be completely unavailable Saturday & Sunday, and most of Monday for sure. I like the idea of myself being the main producer of the team, while THH is the main economist, and I think IND goes hand-in-hand with being the producer. But again, I like getting Wonders and IND is a huge help in that area. But if ya'll really feel that my civ needs to have two traits other than IND, then I suppose I can go along with that. I'd just like some clear reasonings as to why. I also know I'd like us to get an early religion. I tend to try for that too.
I've checked and it looks like Stonehenge gives benefit to both civs.
I can't get any of the test games I set up to behave exactly like a simultaneous turns team pitboss though - I've tried single player team and hotseat team. In the hotseat game I just played it seemed that if one team researched the last turn of the tech they would get the religion, which seems likely, but I'd like to know for sure... Anyone know how to set up a pitboss-sim? Do I have to just learn how to set up a pitboss?
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57
In progress: Rimworld
Well, that sure was unlucky. Imo Smack got the best result, first in turn order and picking one after the other, making it much easier to pick the most synergistic pairing.
Initial thoughts (based on starting locations and pick order)...
I would choose China as the second pick (i.e. first). Early on we need Agri/Mining/Fishing. China starts with Agri/Mining and Fishing is a very cheap tech (plus both locations have tiles that can be mined and farmed). Both locations would want to start worker first (which makes starting techs more important than traits imo). It would be a mistake to not improve the gems asap (to help speed tech rate). I also like being able to go early AH (after Fishing) since spot 2 is clearly the better starting location (Fishing starts require extra hammers to build WBs). Ideally, I would pick China then Victoria/Darius/Elizabeth/Ragnar (in that order). I won't speculate after that...choices should always be made based on what has already been picked. Imo, the fastest start will be Victoria of China (vertical civ) + whatever. Since spot 1 is a Fishing start (slow), spot 2 will need to be the early settler pump (iirc we can gift cities on 1st turn). I would mine the sheep tbh...@ sz 2 (assuming Victoria - Fin/Imp), working wheat+mined sheep (PH settle) means 13 fhpt (5t settler). Being able to get out early quick cities (plus gems to fund expansion to good early commerce sites) should give us an edge. Based on the starting locations, I would REX with spot 2 (vertical) to secure good commerce sites and then grow vertically...by that time spot 1 (good candidate for GLH) should be developed enough (i.e. WBs done) to secure land needed for production (military) and to produce workers (shared). Close cooperation will be key imo. I think my role should be general advice (both civs) with the goal of coordinating progress between civs to win the game (I like the big picture). Tbh, I think Serdoa and Nakor are the better mp players so their advice, at least to me, is of better value (not saying I suck but you have to give credit where it is due imo). Glhf...and remember, there is more than one way to skin a cat.
