[SPOILERS] Nyles Standish goes full retard

Turn 33:

Moving the scout inland. Elkad's territory should be in the fog to the northwest.

I got graphs on Elkad this turn. He should be doing well in crop yield, considering his capital is size 5.

Bronze Working is 8000 soldier points, and you can clearly see mine and Plako's spikes which correspond to Bronze Working. The biggest spike for Elkad is 6000 soldier points, which could be Archery, but means he cannot have Bronze Working yet.

That's never happened to me before. I've been unable to get in before, but never been the person keeping someone out.

Turn 34

My first settler was born this turn, and I revolted to Slavery while I still have 3 citizens instead of 4 so I lose less productivity. He's moved into place and Akkad will be founded next turn.

Have you setup natneg? That could be why people are bouncing off of you.

I have set up natneg. My hosts file has all of the stuff in the prepared hosts file in the first post in the thread you linked.

I'm normally able to connect to others; I've been logged in simultaneously with most of the other players at some point. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've bounced off somebody; I think it was Adler once and Bacchus another time.

I wish it told you who you bounced off just like it does when you get bounced so you could tell if it's the same people.

It could just be that the *other* people haven't set up natneg. If you've been in the game at the same time as someone else before, its probably their fault, not yours!

Turn 35:

CH waches me found Akkad, which takes the fish from the capital. This allows Akkad to grow to size 2 and whip out the barracks a turn earlier than it would have if it worked the pig or floodplains before the pig was pastured. I considered settling between the gems and copper to get the gems first ring, but I don't want to work a 0 food tile at size 1 and I don't want to farm the floodplains, so I went for food first. Capital starts on a Granary; I'd like to finish it before I start whipping Babylon.

Turn 36:

Scout is doomed.

HAK builds The Oracle, which means free Great Prophet points for a shrine, and an asston of culture down the road. He also has no second city yet, as one would expect, having dumped 150 presumably unmodified hammers into The Oracle.

Turn 37:

RIP

Turn 38:

Both cities will grow next turn. Akkad's barracks will be whipped out immediately, so that I can expand borders ASAP.

nice thread so far!

Dealing with Plako is easy. Just march a warrior into his undefended capital on t12 (or thereabouts)...

Thanks! I hope to provide plenty of popcorn in the future.

lol I'm guessing this is a reference to plako getting killed in a past Pitboss/PBEM which I have yet to read.

Turn 39:

Whipped barracks in Akkad; I was first in Mfg and ninth in crop yield for a few seconds before whipping it and losing the hammers from the copper. Granary will probably get whipped in Akkad as soon as it costs 1 pop, and overflow into something.

Sailing comes in next turn. I probably should have gone for Iron Working sooner, so that I can work the 2 jungle gems tiles sooner.

Turn 40:

No screenshots exist of this turn, unfortunately. It was the first turn in which I played last, and I didn't take any screenshots since I was in a hurry (not to beat the turn timer, to get to class).

The workers on the copper moved SE to cottage the ice floodplains. Worker south of Babylon moved east to road the cow tile in preparation for the founding of my third city. I'll probably put it on the hill north of the corn or one tile west of that hill. 1NW of corn gets the furs 2nd ring but also moves horses 2nd ring, as well as the ability to borrow cows from Babylon. It loses the defensive bonus of the hill as well. Wherever I put it, it's getting 1st ring corn and whipping a barracks for culture.

I immediately played turn 41 afterwards without ending turn, in case I wanted to switch builds (I didn't).

Turn 41:

Granary finished in Babylon; started a settler. Will be 2 pop whipped and escorted to the hill by that warrior. I eventually ended turn without changing anything.

In other news, Dtay built Stonehenge. Also, Elkad finally founded New York.

Mediocre to bad demos, except for soldiers hammer

Turn 42:

Finished the floodplains cottage, roaded to my next city, waiting on settler.

Turn 43:

Akkad goes to size 2 and starts working the cottage.

In other news, my size 4 non creative capital with only a granary and palace has sneaked back into the top 5 due to other players whipping their capitals.

Turn 44:

2 pop whipped Babylon with exactly 50 hammers into the settler. Judaism was founded and Commodore has 3 cities.

Sent my worker into position to farm the corn asap and build roads to completely avoid wasting turns, and I found Yuri's scout.

He has 4 cities already. eek

Turn 45:

Moving my warrior into position to defend the new city, which will displace Yuri's scout just like CH's.

I got graphs on Commodore this turn and switched EPs to CH. I posted the graph where he kicked my ass the most, which is crop yield.

Overview of my territory. Building a barracks because I'll likely produce a lot of units in Babylon throughout the game whether I go to war soon or not. After the barracks Babylon builds a Bowman.

Turn 46:

My settlers be like:

Named the third city Nineveh because fuck Dur-Whatever.

Demos after founding

The fact that none of the people to my east (Plako and Yuri) have contact with anybody to the west (everybody else I have contact with) would seem to confirm that the body of water to my south is not an inland sea.

You may also notice that I'm starting to run binary research due to the maintenance cost from founding Nineveh. One turn of 100% gold will give me enough for Iron Working and most of whatever I get next.

Turn 47:

Yuri's Woodsman II scout went NE after getting deported, then doubled back afterwards.

Switched science back on.

Turn 48:

Farm was finished, and the other worker finishes the road the same turn, since I put a turn into a road on the corn before founding.

Turn 49:

My empire. Is it proper to call three cities an empire? Started a Bowman in Babylon for military police and actual defense. My warriors will get screwed by almost anything that isn't also a warrior. Moved my worker in position to start mining the gems as soon as culture pops.

Turn 50:

Whipped granary in Akkad, which will immediately regrow to size 3 next turn.

Turn 51:

Nineveh grew to size 2 before I whipped the barracks. Horses were pastured last turn and roaded this turn.

Building a scout since I have woefully little knowledge of my western neighbors due to my scout getting killed by a barbarian warrior a while back. Hopefully I can at least find Elkad (I assume he's closest since his scout got to me first) before this scout gets killed by barbarians too. Thread title is finally correct again. cool
