Archduke and Emperor K team thread

Hmm, you are Russia you will most likely have 2 stones in your cross.
We can switch and I can do a builder and get the craftsmanship inspiration to share with you.

The idea here is to rush through the civics and techs in cooperation, at least I would love to do so.:D

OK i just got the turn I think. I will go scout -> builder -> larva
Hopefully i get the nice elephant tile and hills stone. Be really nice if a natural wonder is close. I plan to get astrology no matter what unless you think we should wait for inspiration, but that might just be the one tech I just brute force through.
Start research on astrology.

I will play this turn later tonight. Scout will be first in queue so we have time to change if we want.

Oh and should be both scout separate ways?
I am thinking ill head south to see what else is on my river? You follow your river north?

Turn 1

The game has begun!!!!!

I receive the inspiration for Diplomatic Service and Eureka for writing, as we can expect.

Here are the opening moves I went with. Let me know if you would prefer to discuss all moves or try to keep the game moving and go with what I think is best / what we have discussed so far.

I settle in place. Got a banana, 2 stone, and an elephant in my borders all ready. Hell ya!

I set my capital to max growth working the rice tile. Set to grow to size 2 in 4 turns. Scout says 10 turns but that will change after I hit size 2.

I moved my warrior onto the hills to get the most view I could. Lots of pastures, god the open sky may be an option. I was going to have him follow the river south to see if there is another good city spot on this river.

Research set to astrology and that will be done in 18 turns. Hopefully either I find a science cs, (which I would rather have you first meet but I don't think we can really plan out who meets who first) or a natural wonder. I think if you find one it will count for me as well considering we share view. Settler view didn't show anything (it is turn 1) and continent view says all visible tiles are on the same continent (I don't remember the name).

Finally here is a shot of the great people available at the start of the game.

Nothing really sticks out to me. It would be nice if I got enough Great People points to get Donatello, just so Kongo can't, but that was all that came to mind.

I still think that divine spark is the way to go for my pantheon though if I can get it.

I think the best use of builder #1 is to grab rice, quarry the stone hills and get the amenity from the elephants. Don't think making a 2/1 grasslands stone into a 2/2 when I have other 2/2 tiles to work is the way to go.

I'll await your input.

Agree with everything you said. The Stone Grasslands should not be quarried but rather harvested in perhaps a shrine or project.

Sun Tzu is always nice to have, but I like the GS, shame that +1 Icon_Science per library is not there.

Most peculiar is that one of each of the rest of the teams did not settle in place.

Except maybe for scouting decisions we should try to discuss everything to avoid mistakes.

Starting a slinger, working the diamonds, only 1 turn lost in production speed on that slinger and +3 Icon_Gold is nothing to sniff at.

I already agreed wholeheartily with divine spark. It plays into the cultural districts we want you to build. I could also perhaps quickly finish writing and do an ultraearly Campus, but I lean towards slinger and settler on my end.

Turn 2

Moved my warrior south

Found tundra. I am thinking because I can make use of tundra that I will settle the tundra areas. Not sure I want to put my second city down that way but I can eventually get cities that will make maximum use of our tundra south.

Other than that woden and singaboy still have not settled. I am guessing they will have by the time your turn is up. Not much else.

Nothing new here, seems everyone has finally settled.

Turn 3

Nothing worth noting as far as I can tell.

Nothing on settler or continent view. Planning on heading towards the west with my warrior.

Well, we found a natural wonder. Lyseford. I am sure we can do a lot in the longterm with +1 promotion on naval units but right now it is "just" the Eureka. Still, might be worth to put a Holy Site city of yours down there.
I will go E to the hill and continue on scouting that way, nothing on settler view.
I also switched to pottery, because I want to plop down a cheap campus whilst building the settler, I can get mining later when I get that builder.

Turn 4

Really nothing to report. My warrior is heading west.

With all of the land around my capital I am thinking of putting my larva down on the desert tile, It will be +1 and put a district on tile I most likely will never use. Like we already stated, singaboy will get pyramids, that is going to be priority one. Also I can't place it on marsh or jungle until the required techs to clear them are researched, so in 6 turns when astrology is in that was my plan. I should have enough gold to buy that tile.
