I'm back. Mechanics note: hwachas cannot kill. Strategy note, since no one's mentioned it yet: we should resettle that city as soon as possible.

Strategy note, since no one's mentioned it yet: we should resettle that city as soon as possible. Without a TON of military, resettling it is a bad idea. We'd need to have at least 2-3 Archers, and at least an Axe & Spear (or more) ready to be in the city before we consider settling it again. Right now, if LAM does not push further (which I'm hoping the won't), then I think we need to concentrate on getting a nice group of military over to me, so I can attack WK to my north. Next to us, he's the weakest in Power. And if we can get rid of their Pyramids city, that will be big for us to be able to expand northward.
My guess is they'll resettle on the other side of the water and invalidate that spot...

Sorry, I thought it would be understood I meant resettling in force. And if they do invalidate it, that's fine; we could settle 1E of its former position, still be on a plains hill, and share two food resources - a much better city, at the price of the horses. We need a city in that area as a defensive block/buffer, though.
Third Hwacha is done, whipped number 4.
That should help. Now we need units that can attack. Techwise, Calender is in. Do we want to go for MC? Forges are nice BUT can hammers be spared to build them right now or in the near future? Seems like military is a more pressing need. Personally, I see Feudalism (for super longbows) as a better tech choice. Too bad we lost the horses...HAs would be quicker to reach (and can easily deal with spears in low numbers, especially with hwachas to collateral first).

Do you think you can produce for me another Settler sometime soon? If need be, I should be able to do one for myself in about 4 turns, but we'd probably be better off if I keep making us Archers and stuff, in between other things. I now have a Market in almost every one of my cities, and all but two have Hinduism (making a Missionary now for Jungle Fever, my new city). I would also like a Hwacha or two from you at some point if it looks like Lewwyn is going to keep his units from moving any closer. According to Civstats, Seven captured a city from Shoot the Moon a couple turns ago. So that might mean that RMOG may be putting a bulk of their military over that way, which could leave me an opportunity to invade from my north. If I can get a minimum of 6 Catapults/Hwachas, along with a good number of Spears & Dogs, with some of my Totem promoted Archers....I could do some significant damage to him. Maybe even find a city that I can keep. |
