I'd strongly advise against moving 5 off the hill though. Did you know your neighbour has Praets?
The wine tile is in the BFC of Bad Economy, which I think would benefit from working the wine considering it is already a very good commerce city.
As for 5, that move is *only* if Rome is decimated or eliminated. If that doesn't happen before we're ready to settle there, we shouldn't move it.
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"

Silent Neighbor has the wine, not Bad Econ.
The strongest point I see about 3 on copper is all the forests it picks up, so it can grow on corn while we chop it everything the city needs. But moving it to the river pushes out our borders further, picks up a lot of useful river tiles, and starts the irrigation chain towards the dry corn (once CS comes in). Plus it gets that pains cow. I'll start roading towards the river location, and maybe we can even chop the forest before the settler arrives.
Diplomatically, DMOC of EggHeads agreed not to settle marble in a way that would invalidate our fish location, so that's good. They also are asking us how we want to deal with the new runaway, Suttree. Regarding Rome's open borders with India, Caledorn will email India to see what we can find out about that. But he's struggling to come up with a good angle to use since we haven't communicated with them in months. Any ideas?

Finally, a new turn! The last turn started way back on Monday, so it's nice to play a new one. Next turn we're starting the long Christmas timer, so the pace will remain pretty slow for awhile.
These wealth builds in the north are powering us along to CoL. I'll try to time a workboat out of Pitboss Crashes to net the clams on the same turn that Traffic Jams gets its border pop.
More wealth builds. Server Problems finished its temple and is now growing back to size 8 while we build more missionaries. Taxes whipped out the library this turn. You can see the settler that has started moving out from Gov't Shutdown. Our scout has just entered BowAivo's lands, and will start scoping out their cities. I want to get Monarchy next for the HR happy and ability to build wineries. Our tech path after that will probably depend on what we see with Moiraine. If Aivo doesn't have many spears, I'm thinking HBR will be the military tech we pursue before the conquest. If they do have spears, I guess Construction will be more important. Another option is IW->Machinery, for x-bows that will also help against Rome.
We're moving workers towards the new city location down here. I think we're going to be able to chop the forest the same turn the new city is settled, which should be T119. Bad Econ's Missionary will be whipped next turn, and that one will go to convert Silent Neighbor.
Our graphs aren't that bad, so here they are:

Yeah, it sure is. A lot of our plans are contingent on Rome sending that power elsewhere. We're trying to keep a close eye on them to give us warning if it does look like they're going to attack us after all. Here's a composite shot of Rome from this latest turn:
They've been pretty successful in keeping their main stack hidden. Right now we're assuming it's in their capital, but it could also be in that other fogged city. I did some quick napkin calculations, and I think they probably have 35-40 praets right now. We have about 10 axes protecting our two border cities. If those praets start coming towards us, we should get 5-6 turns warning before they can reach any cities. We'd stop everything, whip out axes everywhere, switch research to Construction and whip out cats everywhere once that comes in. I hope that would be enough to slow down their attack after a couple razed / captured cities, then we can start moving in against them assuming our allies do their job of attacking Rome's rear and distracting troops and taking out cities.

Here's a look at our western neighbor, BowAivo.
Our scout is giving us our first peak at their interior. Our NAP expires in 23 turns. I had forgotten that they are Zulu, meaning their impis will make horse archers less effective. I think that means our tech path after CoL will be Monarchy=>Construction=>IW?. Construction would finish by T130. The cats are going to be necessary whether for defense against Rome, or offense against BowAivo. Depending on what Rome does, we might need to extend our NAP with BowAivo.
That's what our cities are doing.
I think we're in 4th place. We can still catch up if we can stay mostly away from the Roman fighting and easily swallow up a western neighbor or two.

Happy Holidays everyone!
I must admit, it's been refreshing to slow down the pace and step away from this game for a bit. RL has been very hectic, both at work and at home, so the timing worked out well. But I owe you guys an update. It's only T119, so you haven't missed much.
Arki has been asking Caledorn to trade maps with us. It doesn't really gain us too much, but in the spirit of keeping the northerners happy with us, I obliged.
So we gained vision on Orgy's city of Alice, SuttOxy's city of Ventose, and all that land in between. To the east, we can now see some extra EggHeads cities. I assume they gained a lot of southern vision. But like I mentioned, this was more for the diplo boost, not the extra vision.
Our scout uncovered BowAivo's capital this turn. We'll keep scoping out their lands.
On the domestic front, we're continuing our mission of spreading religion everywhere. With our cheap temples, we're getting almost instant +2 happy (with a whip, so temporarily +1 happy) in all our cities we can spread to. We'll keep 2-pop whipping missionaries in the newly Christian cities, to overflow into temples.
We're still building wealth in a lot of cities. We'll finish CoL next turn to start on Courthouses, and then we'll get Monarchy. After that we'll research construction. Unless Rome attacks us, in which case Construction comes next. They have started pulling away their sentry chariots, so we believe the attack is coming soon. Still most likely to go against Dinos, but I guess we'll know for sure soon enough.
Meanwhile, on the foreign front, SuttOxy got the Music Artist this turn, and will start their first 12-turn GA. That'll let them switch civics and convert to a religion. While in the GA, they can complete the Great Library and zoom on ahead to Lib. They are now very clearly the frontrunners by a long shot.

A very important domestic update I forgot about! We settled our fourteenth city this turn. Its terrace will be chopped on t121. I haven't changed the name yet, but it will be Rainy Xmas. Caledorn had fessed up and suggested Herpes and Justin Beiber, so those will be our next city names unless lurkers have ideas / requests for anything else we can blame Caledorn for.

Hey guys, was happily 9gagging and saw this, then decided I will just give you some food for thoughts for your city names:
And to wish you to have the chance to use all of them.

Hi 2metra, thanks for stopping by! When I saw you posted I thought for sure that you'd be scolding me for disappearing from the ISDG. I will try to poke back in there soon. I've been reading along still, just not contributing with any posts.
I like your suggestions. I think we can use this list (in no particular order) to take care of our city names for awhile:
- Friendzoned
- Broke
- Bullies
- Diarrhea
- Drama
- No TP
- Break Ups
- Bad Endings
- Stolen Money
- Bieber Fever
- Herpes
