Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Dantski's Pitboss Thread

In my opinion, you have to use what advantages you can get. Your UU is currently king. Why not use and abuse it? Others will surely do the same once theirs is accessible.

You have to take risks to win and if you believe you can get away with it, with hill/culture and skirmishers then it gives you a great big area to expand into.

While you're right, you also have to remember that both of their players are considerably better and more experienced MP players. Also if I was to push for the hammer site, it would be extremely difficult to defend such a long border early on.

At the moment its my 4th city site assuming they don't settle around there first and that seems unlikely.

Seems I was last to play so I got to play twice in a row!

BW is in and I can see only one copper source (picture later will show it). I switch to Mysticism which will take 6 turns.

I immediately adopt slavery.

Also my warrior has found an eastern coast that Sullla mentioned.

After some thought here's a revised map (X's are where cities are planned).

You'll see the copper to the southeast, I'll plan a city around there when I have more map info. Also in case you were wondering Swiss, your site for the gold city isn't on a river there, but since its on a hill in a 'contested' region I decided it was still the best place.

Also Nakor agreed to my NAP terms which were

- NAP to last until T75 (1000 BC)
- 10 turn cooldown if NAP is cancelled
- NAP to be rediscussed on T65

Your dotmap seems to fit in well with the resources, but on a more general level it seems a bit sparse. You won't be able to work all your land until 1700AD. A denser city build will let you work all tiles, defend more easily, and share food resources and cottages between cities. If resource grabbing / border claiming is important skip one dot on your map and settle it later.

EDIT: What I'm trying to say is that you need more overlap between your cities.

India's score went up during the turn, I think founding a city is the only explanation. Skirmisher is going to check it out.

small addition - I would be very tempted to break our NAP if they founded by the gold, I don't see any new borders. A while back I asked them if signs (alt+s) appeared to other teams but they said not or I would've seen theirs. This worries me now that they have at least a small amount of info on their southern lands.

When's your settler due? I think you'd benefit more from fogbusting to allow the settler to get to city 2 ASAP than scout Team Spullla.

I can do both with my skirmisher. Settler is due in 5-6 turns.

So you're not double whipping the settler then?

just a single pop whip, I'm obviously not racing them to a spot now.
