Well, let's wait until we've actually seen what's to the E/SE before we go making any assumptions.

The coastline looks pretty close to mirrored on the other side of the Stone so far, which suggests it being roughly at a halfway point between us and someone else.
Mortius Wrote:It's not just a stone. The city has above all the three happy resources. All of them doubled by markets. So I can say it's about +6 happy cap. The stone is just icing on the cake
PS: Has anyone noticed that we have already all the happy resources doubled by markets (Fur, Ivory, Silk, Whale)? It's +8, and +9 with the Wine
Good that we have several happiness resources. Bad that two of them are not going to be able to be hooked up for a considerable time (Calendar/Optics), and that we require a very expensive building that's not otherwise overly useful in many cities to double them (Markets). Yes, it doubles 2-4 of them at once (depending on tech order), but 150 hammers per city is not a negligible investment. Gold, Gems, Silver, etc are always far better options... though we may not have that choice. (I wonder if all those really good resources will be off the mainland.)
Still, not a bad location. Just bear in mind it only nets us 3 resources (not 5) for a considerable portion of the early game.

Sounds like a reasonable idea. Or a thread consisting of links to the turn reports in this thread - perhaps just every fifth one, plus ones that are deemed extra-important.

Plus, everyone knows this is a big game with lots of people hoping to have a decent amount of time contributing to a Civ development. It would be a disappointment if any team felt the need to eliminate another whole team before they get their second city out. It'd just be very unsportsmanlike for a game like this.
Yeah, let's hope so. To be safe, a team sending their Warrior off in one direction would also have to build a Warrior first (rather than a Worker), which is generally a bad idea. So it seems unlikely that would happen.
I'd recommend our Warrior goes a turn or two NW to fully reveal the coastline there.
