Pink Dot as city 3 sounds good, I’d assume an impi would be enough to dissuade any thoughts of an attack. Can always keep an eye on the demos and get a second unit in if someone suddenly has three or four units built. Worker wise, would you just have it build one itself or send one of the capital ones over? I assume you’re still wanting heavy chopping for more settlers.

an impi+ a AGG/cha axe should be PLENTY for quite awhile. can always tech archery if need be. Ill likely send a worker over with the impi+ settler. cap will likely crank settlers/workers out as much as possible, while everything else works on units. Im hoping to make this a very interesting game.

Also, Magic settled the first city, what looks like a full turn ahead of us.. not sure if thats all that great for a PRO-EXP compared to us, who have no early eco ( outside of Maintenance modifiers ) If we can keep up with the top 1-2 people in settling decent land, our 40%? reduced costs are going to make us amazing.

turn 31-

As i said in a previous post, Magic Science settled the first 2nd city of the game. im unsure if anyone else "can" get one this turn? However we will be planting next turn. I moved the worker to the corn for max-efficiency however if there is a 2-moving barb around that forest i will just /q .. We did lose the scout, the bear had a 86.4% chance to kill so there goes our find-a-neighbor buddy. Magic has a scout nearby and although we will be pinkdotting him, if he tries to screw with my micro with his scout i dont mind bending my civ into his behind. wink

I dislike that we got a neighbor who is PRO, but if we wanted to, and he has nothing for defense.. i have ideas. I basically want this game to be bloody from the start and hopefully that goes well. So long as we dont have persia/rome as a neighbor i dont see anyone punishing us as agg/cha zulu.

Ikhanda will finish EOT. warrior started after. Swapped to slavery with settler in route, copper will finish in 3 turns. Warrior should auto-upgrade to impi although i might not get a road down fast enough to connect the copper b4 the first warrior finishes. Whatever unit finishes is heading straight for Pink Dot. Wish me luck smile

( still waiting for a name for the cap/new city bud! )

OT4E/Cour planted this turn, as did we. City #2 ( along with the cap ) still need to be named.. ;P however. Nothing much else to talk about.

Question for lurkers, if you complete a road on copper the turn before your warrior would pop out, does it upgrade to an ( in this case ) impi? does it do it as soon as you hook up the copper? Thanks!

Hey, I’ll pop in tonight and name some cities. I don’t know the answer to the Warrior to impi upgrade but I’ll test it in a side game to get an answer, my guess is that it upgrades but I don’t know for sure.

Did Magic Science put city 2 away from your capital? If so, he may not even see pink dot as being that provocative of a placement, it’s 8 tiles from your capital and 7 from his, but if he hasn’t scouted out that far he wouldn’t necessarily know that, and it’s not like you’d be settling right next to his second city.

No idea on his 2nd city atm, but he has found our cap. He has quecha's and although i dont think he will do any early attack... id love to end his early game with some spare impis or something like that.

I've virtually sure it will upgrade in the queue in between turns to an impi (with the higher cost) if you do that, but it's been a while.

The most general rule is that units are obsolete when all their possible upgrades are available (warrior -> spear, warrior -> axe), so this is why warriors can still be built with copper until you have hunting.

I'm not sure what happens if you cancel the warrior build after building the road that hooks up copper, and then start an impi, whether you get the hammers from the warrior back!

Non-helpful answer, please let me know too if you sim it. lol
