So, what can i tell from the land that I know?
A) my cap and Molach/CH's are 16 tiles apart on the horizontal, which is what I expected. possibly that means we are all one large landmass, not sure.
B) Assuming that we 16 tiles apart and Adrien is not just going south, then his cap is probably 10 tiles further south of where he is (something like that) Thinking about, that's probably the case, because it seems unlikely that a popped scout could get this far east so far, though it's of course possilbe if it's the first thing he popped.
So, I'm guessing Adrien is my SE neighbor.

It's a bit late now, but you can unset research by clicking on the bar at the top of the screen.

I always say that it's a good day when you learn something! People think i should say other things sometimes, cause the same phrase anytime I open my mouth is annoying....

Turn #14, In Which AT Answers a Question No One Asked
That question is "why shou;ld you always look around your capital before sending out a settler
Well. That's a pretty amazing city site there for a long-term research center/bureau cap. 2 food, 9 cottageable river tiles, what looks to be 6 other tiles, plus silver that I can improve without IW. I need a border pop, but man. Right now, that's my city #2 and screw overlap. That will allow the cap to basically just be a settler/worker pump.
The lines are my scout route to get the hut and move south.
I got my worker. I'll improve the wheat, then move to the ivory, and then I'll road one of those two lines - probably the one to the SE, to get city #2 up earlier.
Adrien has met one other - I should get his demos in 8 turns - he'll get mine in 15.
Demos:
I suppose I could probably reason out who got what based on how score and soldier's changed over the first 15 turns, but it seems like a lot of work.

Turn 15, In Which AT Finds Horse, Which Changes Everything.
Horses are both very convenient and not in any dot map I've come up with.
The obvious places to put a city are in 1 or 2.
1. Gets a strong food without needing border pop. Burns a forest. gives up a river grass tile for a river desert tile. Has a defensive river. Probably gives up one of the floodplains near the lake forever. Can share a hill/ivory with the cap.
2. Makes best use of a crappy tile. Preserves a forest to chop, catches a FP. Requires a border pop (thus a rax/monument) No sharing.
So, I have two choices there. There's a third, which is to go to city #3 (or a city south of the cap) and ignore the horses for now. ! and 2 are aggressive, military builds - if I go there, I'm basically committing myself to a chariot rush on Molach. That's not necessarily an issue, since if I do this, I can catch him with warriors. But it is a risk. He's creative, which means that he'll have 40% defense in the cap by the time I get there and if he gets a spear/archer, the whole thing is crap.
A city that isn't one of those means I try to outsettle my opponents, which plays into imperialistic well. Economically, if I can take 2 cities with 4 chariots, that's a win. If I have to build a rax, it's less so (that's 180 hammers vs 134 for 2 settlers for me) Of course, the cost to take two cities later is a lot higher.
Demos
Still no barbs. I checked the settings, and I don't see No Barbarians.
I was hoping for my scout to be getting some experience from animals before the warriors came out.

Obviously the best spot is 2N of the horses for the trip sheeps. So that your civ's grandmothers have plenty of time to crochet beautiful woolen saddles and livery for your keshiks.

that is a hell of a spot, isn't it? 3 sheep, stone, horses, silver and enough river tiles to make a levee useful.

Turn #16, In Which AT Finally Pops A Hut He Found On Turn #2
I pop the hut and get a map. Maps are ok - not as good as gold, but, especially early, not bad at all. This one shows a lot of land that looks like crap right off.
Tundra and ice, but with deer and a river, there's a decent city site in there.
However - that's Floodplain Ice. If that's improvable, that's a much better site. Lots of worker turns to improve, but it's got what looks like at least 11 river side tiles, so it's a late game production powerhouse with a levee. Is this a script issue, floodplain ice? I'll have to sim that and see how long it takes to improve it and what can be built there...
I'm not sure that there is anything all that interesting south of the cap - one tile is definitely a hill - the other might have food.
Plains Cows make city #2 look more like the commerce one. That's a such a good site.
Next target is that hut I see 2 turns away.
My demos are poor. # more people gained pop this turn (CH, vonTaotao and Tasunke (who is now Tsargon?), so I'm behind there. Still, as far as I can tell, only 9 people are size 2.
Found a barb lion!!
I shall travel away from it...
