So Ichabod really wants to be shot of this game, does anyone else (Dreylin, AT, Cairo?) look like beating Gawdzak or really want to keep playing?

I didn't have enough hammers in the expansion phase to stay competitive on city count/land grab while also building enough military to deter the best player in the field from attacking me.

Your spot was a little tighter than average but it wasn't the worst. (see: Mr. Cairo or Dreylin). IIRC, I thought your spot was ok due to having so much safe backfill and so little border compared to other players.

The backfill was there but I had to settle in a long line to get it, which isn't ideal. My biggest weakness was not discovering the islands sooner and making better use of them. I should have done less border skirmishing and instead settled islands. Darius can make a living with cheap lighthouses and financial coast but I found these too late. This was totally my fault.

Gawdzak Wrote:I really have to question Ichabod's decision to attack Cairo here. He's got better targets in AT and Molach who are both completely checked out of the game. Most importantly, there's the huge potential for me to benefit from this war, considering Cairo is my close neighbour.

I completely agree with Gawdzak here. I know Ichabod is in a tough spot IRL with limited time to connect to the server, and is such kinda checked out, but... his attack on Cairo was a huge strategic mistake IMHO... basically handing Gawdzak the game. Cairo's holdings in Adrien's former territory are underdeveloped and would/will at best be split between Ichabod and Dreylin, while his highly developed core will be uncontested for Gawdzak. Had Ichabod really wanted to win here he should been trying to prop Cairo up, not knock him down!

He mentioned he gave up competing with Gawdzak. I cant understand it either. If you dont have time to play ask for sub then. He ruined good end game for himself and Gawdzak mainly but whatever.

Any objections to posting this in the tech thread?

I think it is time to be called, although Mr Cario sounds like he is having fun defending. Maybe another turn or 2 for him? :P
