Lord, even more lakes! The northern end of it seems to have rivers jutting out as well.
The fish spot is slightly closer to you than to dcodea, since it's five tiles from you orthogonally. If it was me I'd go for it, PRO should discourage him from making moves on a city there, at least early on.

To elaborate, against a experienced opponent I'd strongly consider :cow: for a more defensive location instead of planting right in between our two capitals, especially when IMP/EXP is fast. Sure, we're PRO, but research is slow and we'd need to tech Archery.
OTOH, if dcodea is really a newb, we should plant 1N of fish and consider a Pink Dot somewhere in the Lake District.

Well spotted! I'd rather not let him know how close you are at this point, but I have a feeling borders will pop eot and he'll be able to see the scout...
One thing Joao is handy for is spending the hammers saved on settlers and workers on military, so getting graphs early will be pretty useful.

Doesn't look like it, thankfully.

I think 1N of fish is the pink dot. At least I would consider it that way if I were him.

This is a good point to remember, not only will he have faster development, but he saves hammers on the things everyone builds right now. Not that we should be fearmongering about a warrior rush or any early military, but we can't really compete with him (even more so) if he wants that cow sheep spot.
Our first city should probably settle for copper too.

Our borders pop and we encounter a second neighbour (well, technically the first since we haven't made contact with dcodea). How cramped is this map??
Stardoor: AGG/EXP of Arabia. Also, there's sheep to the right, and peninsula/land bridge with fish to the south. And our scout hasn't moved yet. Thoughts?

Okay, forget I mentioned settling across the river.

My wild guess is that the landbridge south leads to some central hubs. And yeah, it looks like it'll have to be :cow:
