RBPB4 [SPOILERS] - Locke and Cervantes

I guess we should update because it is turn 200.

There is overview map I put it in spoiler because it is really big. If you look just at our civ we are doing really good. We have most cities and most territory. We are winning Adlain war and he will not be around much longer. The problem is that Parkin is to far ahead so game will probably not last much longer.

Here is Adlain front. We made attempt to capture 18 Billion but there were too many longbows inside. We killed a bunch of them and lost some cats/redcoats. It wasnt a great trade for us. We decided to wait for next draft round and destroy other cities first. We razed Opptuni last turn and PTNI is next target. We have started drafting round again and already get 15 more redcoats. They are walking over here to join army. We also finish Military Traditon tech so we can build cavs and also upgrade knights to cavs. We think it will take about 10 more turns to finish Adlain. He only has 5 cities left and we pillaged corn resources so its harder for him to whip new units. We can even draft redcoats out of some of the captured Adlain cities LOL. So it is just matter of time there.

Adlain land is really good. I think it is probably better then our own start area. This is helping our Demos we are now #1 in Food and Land. We are #2 in GNP and researching faster than anyone other then Parkin. But that is the problem Parkin has gigantic military now and can raze any coastal city at will. We cant stop him at sea we dont even have Compass. Destroyers vs galleys is just silly and not funny for us.

So if game goes on our only hope is that 1) Parkin is to busy raping the crap out of plako to care about us 2) we can sign some kind of NAP with Parkin and trick him into longterm peace. Then race for Cultural victory. It is slim possibility but not completely crazy. We are Spi and we have 6 religions in our civ. We have been preparing for this for some time - Legendary cities would be Cherokee, Olmec, and Zapotec. Hermitage is almost done in Olmec already. We would build alot of missionaries and use Uni Suffrage civic to rush-buy temples/cathedrals in Legendary cities, then run slider for 100% culture. We could do it if we get the time. But humans are not AIs and I dont think we would live for 40 turns of running culture slider. Only hope would be trick peope into signing NAPs and then hope they are dumb enough to hold to them. Maybe it would work though since thats basically what Parkin did.

I said many times before that teams were stupid for not attacking Parkin like 30 turns ago. Now plako wait until its too late and he lose all his ships and most of his army. Very very dumb. Not breaking those NAPs has lost the game. Remember our team did not sign NAP with Parkin. We could see what was going to happen. But we are so far away from Parkin we could not do anything to him. Huge maps have lots of good things: big empires big armies lots of expansion. But the problem is that you cannot affect teams far away from you. Not until late Renaissance or early Industrial. Parkin start max distance from us and we cannot reach him until about now on tech tree - and it is already to late. Teams that were close enough to do something chose to do nothing. So we just lose game even though I think we play well. It sucks but I guess thats life sometimes. :/

I will say more when game ends (which I think will be soon cause plako is already giving up). Feel free to tell us in lurker thread what we could have done differently about Parkin. I dont really see what we couldve done though. (Sending medieval army of drafted maces would not work well against guy who could draft rifles by the time they arrive LOL)

I'm astounded, honestly. How did you change your precise writing to something like
Quote: UU is a ship lol.

Your disguises were masterpieces, and i had no idea that it was the two of you playing this game.

Turn 200...
Quote:Were it not for Parkin, we'd be in tremendous shape... and as I said before, he was just too far away on the map for us to stop his rampant teching. The teams that were close enough to affect Parkin, chose to sign NAPs and then do nothing while he raced a full era ahead in tech. Now he's burning down their cities (and somehow managed to get regoarrarr to serve as his puppet, which makes no goddamn sense to me!) and I honestly say, well deserved. Too shortsighted. Go back and read this thread, I saw that Parkin would be a monster from the moment he teched Nationalism before us (via Divine Right path) on T152. That meant a guaranteed Taj Mahal + Mausoleum super Golden Age. We saw it coming, and the other teams obviously didn't.
Turn 190...
Quote:The truth is that we are sort of half-assing this Parkin war. The only thing we are contributing is drafted redcoats and units from our Heroic Epic city (once it gets built). Our cities are going to be pushing culture very, very hard once (1) I get back from vacation and stop working on these flaky hotel connections and (2) we finish the Adlain war. By sending off drafted units to fight against Parkin, we do our part to slow him down with minimal effort, and we avoid burning bridges with our current allies (plako, Nakor, luddite). It just doesn't make sense to sit on the sidelines when we can send off drafted redcoats with extremely minimal cost to ourselves. Plus, we're already committed to this, and backing out would be a rather dickish move at this point.
Hmm, perhaps it would have been better to focus a little more on helping us stop the runaway civ, and less on grabbing land for yourself? You seemed to think that the 3 of us would have no trouble taking down Parkin, when in fact we needed a lot more units. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if you had attacked Parkin instead of Adlain with your macemen army.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not understanding this comment. ???

Its too bad he adopted the rape the crap out of everyone but plako strategy... :<

You were agitating war against us for most of the early game and you weren't particularly agitating for us to break our NAPs very heavily. I kinda wish you had a heavier diplo-presence late game if only for your adorable cave-man voice when I read your thread.lol
