I did not know that; thought it scaled with game speed for some reason. Cool, worker in 8, then.
My scout has hit a wall:
It's a little hard to tell from the screenshot, but the two fogged tiles north of the western-most peak are both water. This is good; it might block my expansion a little bit, but since I already have seas or at least lakes to my east and west, a wall or choke-point to the south will leave me with only the north wide open to attacks by land.
Also, incredibly fertile land.

Agriculture complete, set research to Crafting so I can hook up that wine.
The Fog Eradication Campaign continues.

Ooh, looks like we have a mountain pass mechanic here. So either there is a player to the south, or a communal treasure area. Hopefully this means the rest of the south will be blocked off too, because turtling area = MOAR WIZARDS!

*sigh*
The more I think about it, the more I think I made a mistake not picking Dain. He is literally perfect for the Suicide Magic Beeline; double-speed elder councils allows him to grab the research bonus more quickly and begin running sage specialists sooner as well, who will entire pop a Great Sage sooner on their own due to Philosophical. And because the bulbing preferences in EitB were changed slightly, that early GS could have gone on to bulb Sorcery (or most of it). Valledia seems cooler for when I get to the late game, but Dain would actually have gotten me there.

Ah, well, I couldn't have afforded it anyway.
My scout plods on:

There have been recent claims elsewhere that production decay does scale with game speed. I don't really have time to test it myself, so you might want to verify it.

It takes 2 sage bulb to complete sorcery now - I did it last night! knocking 32t off my research time!
